Earlier this year, Desert Designs hosted a launch event of jewelry lines by two enterprising young women: Tas Jewels by Abeer Suria and Hemari Jewels by Rahzia Hemani.

Hemani, who had previously launched her exclusive line of Tasbih (prayer beads) at Desert Designs, has been specializing in custom designer jewelry for a decade now. “My hobby and passion was always designing and wearing jewelry,” said Hemani. “Ten years ago I designed a few engagement rings for my friends and that's how the business started.” She designs custom, modern and ethnic jewelry, including rings, necklaces, earrings, prayer beads, solitaire fine jewelry and high-end watches. Hemani is a natural-born Canadian raised in Texas, USA. She moved to Ras Tanura three years ago. 36 DESTINATION SHARQIYA DECEMBER 2016
“My brother runs our diamond design office in Houston while I run the Saudi business,” she said. The jewels are made with good quality diamonds and 18kt gold and the prices can range between SR 850 and SR 15,000 (and higher).
