This month, we held a brief meeting during the beginning of December to introduce new events. This was our final meeting of the semester. The main highlight of the month was our interkey event with Monte Vista, San Ramon Valley, and Athenian Key Club. It was winter/holiday-themed, and it included a toy drive, gift wrapping, and cookie decorating. Overall, it was a really successful event and we enjoyed celebrating the holidays with so many key clubbers! We also held another card-making event. This was once again in collaboration with For Future Lungs (we previously did a stress ball-making event with them), and we had members create postcards/cards to send to children in Vietnam. Now that we are on break, we finished up with collecting asynchronous event hours and determined active membership. We are super excited to plan more events next year. I would say that DVKC ended the year really well, and I'm excited to see our club grow further in 2023.

The Athenian School

This month, our members participated in an Interkey with several other key clubs, wrapping presents and making cards. The officers also started to plan events for 2023.

RECAPS recaps

Monte vista

This month, Monte Vistas Key Club continued with their two ongoing service projects: Charity Miles and Pause For. Additionally, our members joined a school clean-up hosted by another club, Climate Action Now. Monte Vitsa Key Club also had an interkey with Dougherty Valley, San Ramon Valley, and Athenian. During this interclub, members wrapped gifts received from a toy drive held earlier in the week. The members also decorated cookies and participated in bonding activities.

The kiddos made cards for seniors. Students all years alike are rejoicing over the fresh hour opportunities we had this month. Half the club started using hair loss prevention shampoo to combat the stress of finals. If you know any good hair loss prevention shampoo please email us if you need it. ( not really ) Dues are pending because the site is a bit broken.

As Conclave nears, all the LTGs, District chairs, and prospective LTGs of Region 9 and 17 gathered together for an informative training session. After getting to know many club members (some of whom came from more than an hour away), we learned about the role of a Lieutenant Governor, the process of elections, how to create a Literature, and much more! Attendees were also divided into small groups that were led by a Lieutenant Governor, so we could brainstorm ideas for our Literatures and plan how we would run for the position. To finish off the training, several attendees were able to practice their speeches in front of everyone.

Despite the rain that interfered with the planned outdoor DCM and DWS, our division was still able to meet with each other online. After our DCM, in which each club presented their past and upcoming events (Monte Vista passed their fundraising goal of $600!), we played Gartic.io (similar to the game Telephone, but with drawings instead of words). The time passed quickly and we ended the meeting with a member ranting about their APES class.

At the beginning of the school year, our club introduced an ongoing and asynchronous event called Charity Miles. With this app, you track your fitness and the miles you ' ve gained while collecting money for preferred charities--we donated to the UNICEF foundation. Our club decided to have a fun competition where the person with the most miles would receive a prize. This really motivated our club to participate more, and we managed to collect 1,472.87 hours within the last few months! I think this is a great idea, where you can benefit yourself and others in need, and I hope that more groups hop onto this trend, too.
