Hey, Blue Devils! tI hope you had the time of your life at Fall Rally North! It was so amazing being up on stage and seeing you all cheer your hearts out. Thank you for being a part of the biggest Pediatric Trauma Program fundraiser of the year! Fall Rally marks the midway point of the term. We’ve officially made it 6 months into the 2018-2019 term! Whether you’re an officer or a member that’s been in Key Club for years, or if you’re a new member joining us this semester, I hope you’re excited for the road ahead. The next months will be packed with exciting and fun events, including our Division 26 South Training Conference, our movie night DCM, multiple service events, Conclave (where we elect our next Lieutenant Governor), and of course, District Convention! A LETTER FROM YOUR DNE

Hey Blue Devils ! I can’t believe this is the sixth issue !! The term has gone by so fast; it feels as though it just started a few weeks ago. Thank you for all the love and support on my newsletters so far, I appreciate each and every one of you (: It was so great meeting so many of you at Fall Rally North !! I’m so proud of you all, and I hope this event further ignites your passion for Key Club as it did for me at my first Fall Rally. I still have PFRND; this was my last FRN, but I’m glad I was able to cheer among a group of such passionate Key Clubbers. The service and hype doesn’t stop after FRN !! Make sure you’re still attending DCMs and DWSs even though they aren’t required. Remember, the key reason you are in this club is for the service (; Don’t forget to check out the CNH Cyberkey & The Bee Line district newsletter ! Also, send articles and visuals to your school’s editor and they might get featured in future newsletters !! Let’s get this bread.

Burning with Service,

On September 29 and 30, I went to Region 9 and 17’s Region Training Conference in Camp Jones Gulch in the Santa Cruz Mountains with three other Campolindo students: Caleb Eliazer, Adriana Derksen, and Charmae Wang. At the event, there were 12 lieutenant governors and 11 divisions. On the first day, we had a keynote speaker and did some ice breakers as a whole. Then we went to 2 workshops, which included Key Club basics, scholarships and grants, Presidents & VPs, secretaries, treasuries, editors/historians, and service project chairs. We then split into our groups with by God or Goddess name. I was in the Athena group with one other D26S member. We went to more workshops with our group. In our groups, we created skits and cheers which

8

we performed during the rally. We then had cabin time and dinner. After dinner, we walked to the campfire. During the campfire, each group performed their skits, cheers, and played finished the lyrics. After the campfire, we had activities like the talent show, games, photobooths, and study hall. Then it was curfew and lights out. The next morning, we had Zoe Yao give a speech about her key club experience. We then had group time to take pictures with each other and exchange social medias. The last thing was the DCM with each individual’s division. We all had a great time learning about Key Club and making new friends.

The Spirit Social at Emerald Glen Park was the first one I attended so far in Key Club, and I thought it was a pretty cool event. First, we introduced ourselves to each other through a game, and then began the meeting with some news detailing future events. Next, we practiced the cheers, which took up the rest of the Spirit Social. Some of them were more complicated than others, but I found the cheers to be easy to memorize. All in all, the meeting was really lively, which was definitely because of the number of members there, and I had fun being there.

by Beiming Wu, Dublin During the second spirit social this year, I got to meet a lot of different key club members from all of the d26s clubs. It was cool because I hadn’t met the officers previously but attending the spirit social have me the chance to do that. It was really fun being able to learn the chants for FRN with everyone and hang out with my friends. The preparations for FRN is one of my favorite parts because everyone gets together to have a good time.

by Emily Do, Dublin

by Adriana Derksen, Campolindo On September 8th, I had the opportunity to help at Donate Life Walk and Run in Walnut Creek, which helped to raise money and awareness for those who need organ donations. Many of the attendees were families of those who had died and had their organ donated, so the event was all-in-all an emotional experience. Here, we helped in the VIP tent for donors who had raised over a certain amount to support this donation. We cheered them on as well as made sure they had everything they needed to have a wonderful experience. Surprisingly, this event was also a Division 26 North DWS, so we had the opportunity to meet or reunite with other Key Clubbers from our area. It was a great experience to be able to help so many people, especially those who have lost so much yet still strive to help their communities in any way possible. Everyone at the event was so possible and excited to be there that we as volunteers couldn’t help but be happy with them! Past Events
