Yo, Blue Devils! It’s Fall Rally Month! I know you’re getting excited to cheer your heart out at the biggest fundraiser for PTP of the year. Now is the perfect time to fundraise for the Pediatric Trauma Program. Any funds raised between now and Fall Rally North on October 20 will go towards our Division’s funds for the auctioning process at the Rally! Basically, the more funds we raise for PTP, the more money we’ll be able to use to “bid” on CNH District Board members. Remember to get those cheers down to each word! We want to be #1 in the spirit competition at Fall Rally, but we can’t do that without your help and dedication to learning the cheers and cheering your heart out during Rally. Make sure to watch our video online with all the cheers and words to follow along with! In addition, attend one of the two remaining Pre-Fall Rally Spirit Socials happening these next few weekends leading up to Fall Rally North! Officers, it’s no secret to you now that registration is not easy and can be frustrating. Remember to stay positive and enthusiastic, and reach out to me or club advisors if you need any help! In addition, remember to promote, promote, promote these events as much as possible to maximize our experience at Fall Rally North. Finally, just because it’s Fall Rally month does not mean we stop service! Service never sleeps! Remember to stay actively participating in your community at service projects and fundraisers. I can’t wait to see you all up on your feet and showing your Blue Devil spirit at Six Flags on October 20! See you soon. Yours in Service,

Yours in Service,

On Saturday August 18th key clubbers from all over Division 26 South had the opportunity to volunteer at the Color Run. I personally had Visuals submitted by Jacklyn Wang, Campolindo

volunteered at the event last year and I remembered it being so much fun- this year’s Color Run definitely did not disappoint! Since there were only a limited amount of spots at the 10AM shiftmany people were

encouraged to go to the earlier one at 6:00AMconsidering the event was at least 30 minutes away from the nearest part of our division we were skeptical many people would go. However, so many people came out to volunteer!! After arriving,

we were split up into two groups to go throw color. Half of us got to throw green while the other half threw a combination of blue and red. The color throwing was a little difficult since so many people were coming through and we

were constantly needing to refill our bottles of color; however, it was honestly such a fun experience! The people participating in the run were so excited and nice and being apart of that is always exciting for you as well. After the run we were all covered in

color, and I mean covered. The Color Run was honestly one of the was honestly one of the most fun service events I have ever done and being able to serve with all my friends from all over the division made it even better.

by Arine Kim, Campolindo On Saturday August 11th, Campo Key Club was able to help at out at the Project Open Hands center in San Francisco. As soon as we arrived to the center, the front desk gave us a warm welcome and we were taken into a room with other volunteers and were given a thorough explanation about what purpose Project Open Hands serves, their origins, and what we as volunteers were going to do today. We were very lucky that we had our Vice President, Caleb Eliazer, with us. Since he had volunteered at Project Open Hands in the past, he was more familiar with what we were supposed to be doing. We were separated from the other group of volunteers and went to the upper level in order to

label, sort, and seal. We all had to wash our hands and wear a hat (or hair net) so we could ensure that all of the food was free from contamination. A man quickly demonstrated how to label and seal the bags, and then we were left to our own devices. However, from time to time, he would check up on us and crack a few jokes in order to make the atmosphere better. After beginning the process of packaging the food we had quickly formed a system. Two people would label the bags, two people would package the food into the bags, and additional two would seal the bags. Our first food that we had to package was ravioli, we had to place 16

pieces of ravioli in each bag. Although the task sounds simple, it was hard to maintain conversation while keeping track of how much ravioli was in each bag. As we got more into the rhythm of things, we were able to efficiently and swiftly package three whole (very heavy) boxes of ravioli. After a bit of time, we were pleasantly surprised by our LTG Justin Tang who decided to join us on our volunteering endeavors. However, instead of ravioli, we had to pack pork chops. After we finished labeling the bags, a group of three had gone to the far corner of the room and had to measure out and pack coffee into tiny plastic baggies. On the other side of the room, we had a group

of four packaging the pork chops. The pork chops were rock solid and perfectly sliced in symmetrical slabs of meat (it was oddly aesthetic). Finally, we had to clean up and sanitize our work area after we had finished packing all the food. At the very end, we were presented a whiteboard stating how many servings of food we made, and it was very satisfying seeing our hard work pay off (especially to such a noble cause). Overall, I had a really fun time, and I think everyone else did too. The environment was positive and uplifting , and I really feel as if I got to know the members in Campo Key Club better.

Dublin creek cleanup day was an amazing event as it was the first event that I attended this term. The city gave us continental breakfast in the morning and then we all drove to the creek we were assigned to and started cleaning up the creek trails that our community had built up over the last year. The feeling of picking up trash couldn’t have ever felt better... I was able to meet elementary and middle school kids that came with their parents to help and that gave me hope in this community that good could be done. Furthermore, I was glad that my service contributed to the better good of this community, after all our society can't run without having voluntary service offered by “the people”

by David Hwang, Dublin During this event people from all over Dublin gathered in order to clean up the creeks. This was incredibly fun because I was able to talk to new people and help out with the community. It was an eye opener since I didn’t know that there was so much trash around Dublin.

by Emily Do, Dublin

by Marian Wang, Dublin This was my fourth and final club fair, and it was so bittersweet! Advertising Key Club to the freshmen made me super excited for my last year, but also very sad that my long and sweet key club journey is coming to a close. As a freshman who joined the club, I was shy and scared to meet new people. Now that I’m a senior, I’m much more outgoing and spirited. Club fair was an opportunity to give that experience to all these new potential members. I remember waking up in the morning and intentionally putting on my Key Club shirt and windbreaker so that everyone would know exactly what club I was advertising (as if they didn’t know already). Along with a bunch of other members at Dublin, we made sure to walk around with posters and shout “Join Key Club!” every few seconds. Overall, club fair is one of my favorite times of year because I get to show the other clubs at Dublin High School why Key Club is so special, and why it is the best high school service club on campus.
