EMERGING DEALMAKER OF THE YEAR FRED FINALISTS

The Emerging Dealmaker of the Year award recognizes real estate professionals under 40 who shine as rising stars in the industry. Nominees for this award can be considered for a variety of reasons, including total number of transactions, total square footage leased, and/or total value of transactions in Frederick County, as well as significant professional achievements, how the individual is giving back to the Frederick. Ashleigh Kiggans, MacRo Ltd Ashleigh continues to display a strong work ethic and strong leadership for the Frederick community. During 2019 she worked on a number of unique development and sales/lease deals for a value of $12.2 million. She served as Board President at Federated Charities, was elected to the Frederick County Association of Realtors Board of Directors and Mental Health Association of Frederick County Board of Directors.

Chris Kline Jr., Frederick Commercial Real Estate Chris Kline Jr. started his own firm in 2019 and hit the ground running. He is an active member of Rotary Club of Carroll Creek, on the Downtown Frederick Partnership Board, Heartly House Board, President of East Frederick Rising, and a “Big Brother� mentor for many years. In 2019 he completed multiple transactions with a value over $13 million.

Justin Saltzman, VCRE Justin Saltzman serves as both the Business Development Manager and a Sales Associate at VCRE.Co. He is a life-long resident of Frederick County and an active member of the Rotary Club of Frederick serving as President Elect. In 2019 he secured 16 leases totaling 32,800 square feet of space and completed transactions that value at $2.7 million.


DEALMAKER OF THE YEAR FRED FINALISTS

Nominees for Dealmaker of the Year can be considered for a variety of reasons, including total number of transactions, total square footage leased, and total value of transactions in Frederick County; how the individual is giving back to the Frederick County community, or other factors that make the individual outstanding in 2019. Ken Breen, Clagett Enterprises Ken joined Clagett Enterprises in 2012 and has been in commercial real estate sales for over 25 years, 19 of which have been as an Associate Broker. Ken has extensive experience in selling and leasing commercial buildings, as well as development and consulting. His expert knowledge and experience in commercial real estate has earned him award recognition with the Frederick County Office of Economic Development as a Frederick Real Estate Deal Makers with the Most Creative Deal for the Float Frederick Project in 2017 and the Most Creative Deal for Wilcoxon Sensing Technologies Project in 2019.

Seamus Fitzgerald, Fitzgerald Realty Group, Inc. Seamus has strong roots in the Frederick community. As Executive Vice President, Seamus has been an integral part of the Fitzgerald Realty Group’s success for the past 15 years. Seamus has deep experience in commercial sales and leasing, real estate consulting, land brokerage and development, and tenant representation. He’s negotiated scores of successful agreements across a wide array of commercial real estate assets. During 2019 Seamus completed the State Farm campus sale and 10 other deals.


DEAL OF THE YEAR FRED FINALISTS

This deal is bigger than just a real estate transaction. This is a deal that has far reaching impacts on the Frederick County community or economy based upon significant job creation, capital investment, size/square footage of project, diversification of Frederick's economy and/or community impact/revitalization. The Kroger Co. High-Tech Customer Fulfillment Center Address: 7106 Geoffrey Way, Frederick, MD 21704 Size: 700,000 square feet on 57.55 acres (350,000 square foot CFC) Description: Kroger Family of Companies purchased land in Frederick, MD to revitalize a vacant distribution facility and also construct an industry-leading High-Tech Customer Fulfillment Center (CFC). This CFC will be a key component of the seamless fulfillment ecosystem Kroger is developing for customers across the U.S. and will create 500 jobs. Frederick Health purchased the former State Farm campus with a vision to continue developing the property over the next 10 years to make room for growth and to continue to best serve community demand and add 250 jobs. The transaction included a land sale to Rutter’s and an executed lease with Goodwill Industries of Monocacy Valley.
