Is growing just for kids? What a delight it is to meet a newborn baby. Then to watch them grow and learn new things, all the way to adulthood. It’s an extraordinary process, and one that I’ve marvelled at. The thing is, we might not grow ‘up’ any more when we’re older (the challenge is not to grow ‘out’!) but we still have lots of opportunities to grow, and to learn new things, and become wiser. Now Jesus Christ used this picture of growing that we all know to describe what He offers all people. He told a grown man he had to be born again. A grown man! But he was talking about starting a new life with God through trusting Jesus. The picture is picked up in the rest of the Bible. God’s plan for people is to keep growing up. His goal is for us to grow mature as followers of Jesus. So no matter what your age and stage, God’s given us the chance to grow in a way that surpasses all others – as Growing followers of Jesus. If you’d like to know more about Growing as a follower of Jesus, why not join us at one of our services, or come along to Christianity Explored. Blessings, Rev Roger Cunningham

Dispelling the Myth – Only the rich need a financial planner The greatest myth surrounding Financial Planning is that many believe that it is a luxury for the rich; this is definitely not the case. The common misconception revolves around many believing the main role of the planner is to invest their money, with the logical conclusion, if I have no money I don’t need a financial planner. The truth is that Investment of funds is only one function of the financial planner. The role of the financial planner is to assist in identifying financial goals and develop strategies to effectively use your assets and income to achieve those goals. This is a broad all encompassing statement, but none the less true. As all of us go through various life stages we enviably encounter life events, that the advice of a financial planner can make a real difference, things such as starting a career or being made redundant, saving for you children’s education or a first home, or even starting a family all have financial planning consequences surrounding taxation, social security and insurance. Proper financial advice at these times will help you achieve your goals. These are only a few examples of life events that require financial planning advice. Our web page has many more examples and links to the advice that may be required. Please visit http://futurefinancialservices.com.au/life-events 4
