CHELSEA MARILYN ZURFLÜH

Swiss soprano Chelsea Marilyn Zurflüh is a member of the International Opera Studio in Zurich and has already performed at the Zurich Opera House in roles that include Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro and Atalanta in Serse, as well as performances at the Konzerthaus in Vienna and the Tonhalle in Zurich. She has won a number of singing contests, including a first place finish in the Elvirissima vocal competition. Zurflüh has worked with conducting greats such as Riccardo Minasi, Victorien Vanoosten, and Christoph König. Continually honing her singing skills, she takes master class- es with Malcolm Walker, Hedwig Fassbender, Michelle Wegwart, and Eytan Pessen. Chelsea Zurflüh graduated from the Hochschule der Künste Bern/Schweizer Opernstudio Biel with a Master of Arts degree in “Specialized Music Performance Opera,” having received the highest distinction. The Swiss soprano gave another very special performance: On the occasion of the swearing-in ceremony of the members of the Council of States in the Federal Parliament, she sang the first verse of the national anthem solo before the leading Swiss politicians joined in to sing the rest. n

She has been a permanent soloist at the famous "House on the Ring" since 1999, and has performed and sung over 50 different roles there.
