Friday 24th December (evening) __________________________________ WHITE THE NATIVITY OF THE LORD - CHRISTMAS DAY (SOLEMNITY) Office: First Vespers of tomorrow’s Solemnity At the Vigil Mass: Gloria, Readings of the Vigil Mass of the Nativity of the Lord, Creed (all kneel briefly at “et incarnatus est…”), Proper Preface (and insert of Christmas if Eucharistic Prayer I) Before the Midnight Mass of Christmas it is appropriate that a solemn vigil should be celebrated with the Office of Readings; Compline is not said by those who are present at this vigil. At the Midnight Mass: Gloria, Readings of the Midnight Mass of the Nativity of the Lord, Creed (all kneel briefly at “et incarnatus est…”), Proper Preface (and insert of Christmas if Eucharistic Prayer I)
Saturday 25th December _________________________________________ WHITE THE NATIVITY OF THE LORD - CHRISTMAS DAY (SOLEMNITY) Holy Day of Obligation (Missa Pro Populo) All priests may celebrate or concelebrate three Masses at their appropriate points of the day. If only one Mass is celebrated the one appropriate to that part of the day is used. A priest who celebrates Mass three times may accept three Mass offerings.
