SSONS E L IN During COVID-19 the Junior School day continued for everyone – but online! Teachers worked with their classes in multiple online platforms, using their class blogs to communicate, and learning continued as seamlessly as possible.
A
steep learning curve for everyone, but committed to with the same passion and excellence as always. We loved the sharing and feedback from families at home, many of whom sent in photos of their girls engaged with learning.
period. We appreciate that for many families it wasn’t easy to juggle your own work, school studies and family living in your home. Our staff have shared exactly the same challenges as they too worked from home and juggled online teaching duties with their own family responsibilities.
Then after weeks of school done differently, the days of lessons in pyjamas, eating breakfast while reading and writing, Zoom meetings and iPads on tap were officially over. In a morning filled with smiles, squeals of excitement, a pinch of nervousness and chatter aplenty, our girls returned to school as we moved to COVID-19 Level 2. It was fantastic to be back!
I am incredibly proud of the work of our teachers, and equally impressed with the enthusiasm of our students. The real magic of teaching and learning occurs when the zest and enthusiasm of a teacher is blended with the curious mind of a young learner. This powerful recipe is why we chose to become teachers and is why we have been so eager to welcome your girls back to school.
Thank you all for supporting your children’s learning during the lockdown
