Dear Manvel Maverick Students, Staff, Parents & Fans, Welcome to the 2025-2026 Manvel Maverick football season! Knowing that our student’s high school years will be the cause of reflection in years to come, it is my hope that their time at Manvel High School is something they will look back on with great joy. I also hope they look back on these years as a time when they experienced growth and success in both the classroom and on the football field and that they became the best version of their self that they could be.
Our goal in Alvin ISD is to build strong teams by teaching all of our students including our athletes, band members, cheerleaders, drill team and JROTC -- who come together with the football team as one body on game night -- how to work together, to effectively communicate, be prideful and known for their outstanding sportsmanship. This can only be accomplished if we are all working together for a common purpose by supporting one another, holding ourselves to a higher standard and communicating shared expectations.
High school football is a demanding sport both mentally and physically, and for our teams and other organizations, who participate in “Friday Night Lights” to be as successful as possible, we need to be positive and encouraging to all of our players, students and coaches and understand that we are all here for the same reason -- to demonstrate character and integrity in all aspects of life. Thank you all for your service and commitment to our students, our staff, our schools and our community. Football is ultimately a team sport where emphasis is placed on the entire team over the individual – so let’s all continue to support all of our students and staff and work hard, work together and have a great football season!

Alvin ISD and the Athletic Department would like to welcome everyone to the 2025–2026 school year and the 100-Year Anniversary Celebration for AISD!
It’s hard to fathom the number of AISD student-athletes, cheerleaders, band members, flag corps, drill team, choir, and MCJROTC members who have competed and participated over the past 100 years. The foundations of school spirit, combined with great sportsmanship over the years, still strongly resonate on the fields, courts, and hallways throughout our schools and communities.
We are truly thankful and blessed for the spirit of competition that past, present, and future generations bring in representing AISD.
Alvin ISD is now in the second year of The Texas Way initiative. Numbers from this past school year show that it helped improve the level of sportsmanship at UIL sporting events and decrease the number of ejections.
To coach, play, officiate, and support The Texas Way means you are committed to the following three pillars: Respect for Others, Control of Self, and the Spirit of Competition.
We encourage everyone to continue partnering with Alvin ISD and The Texas Way to help create an exciting, fun, and safe environment for all participants while attending UIL sporting events. We are making a difference—and with everyone’s support, we will continue to make a difference.
Please don’t hesitate to come by our office at Freedom Field, 10855 Iowa Colony Blvd., Iowa Colony, TX 77583, or call us at 281-245-2574 if we can be of further assistance.
Take care, and help our teams and programs have a great season!
Sincerely,
Coach Bass
Dear Mav Nation,
I am honored to serve as your principal for the 2025 - 2026 school year. Manvel High School is more than just a school. It is the heartbeat of the community. I began my career here in 2009 and held a variety of positions including math teacher, cheer coach, and assistant principal. MHS is my home and I’m proud to be a Maverick.
I am grateful to lead the campus that has shaped me into the leader I am today. Just as Manvel High School has afforded me a variety of professional growth opportunities, I look forward to year 2 of supporting and contributing to the academic growth of our students and the professional growth of our staff.
The campus theme for the 2025-2026 school year is “Team Hoka Hey”. A team is defined as two or more people working together to achieve a common goal. Team Hoka Hey not only includes the students and staff but the parents, families, and community members that all partner together to ensure a safe learning environment that is academically rich and prepares our students for post secondary opportunities. We achieved great things at MHS last school year and we will continue our culture of excellence this school year.
Each student and staff member of MHS along with the Manvel community all contribute to the Hoka Hey culture of excellence and to be unselfish. I’m looking forward to a school year full of memories and wonderful moments that we will be able to celebrate together.
I’m excited about the great things we will accomplish at MHS for the 2025-2026 school year.
HOKA HEY, Jamie Baldwin
