NEW PELICANS ON THE BAYOU The reopening of a historic restaurant

Frozen virgin strawberry daiquiri with Pelican wings and onion rings. The Pelican wings are sweet and spicy wings that are fried and tossed in pelican sauce. The onion rings are lightly battered and fried to perfection.

Destination Location: New Iberia, LA Behind the name: Pelicans on the Bayou closed about five years ago. It was such a historic part of New Iberia that when the new owners decided to open they maintained the name but added the word “new” in front of it. The New Pelicans on the Bayou opened a month ago. Little known fact: The New Pelicans on the Bayou is a full-service restaurant. In the past, the location functioned solely as a bar. Romantic space: At night, lighting throughout the outdoor deck makes it a perfect spot for a romantic dinner. If the patio is too cold, there is also a cozy table inside the restaurant in a quiet corner. Concept: This local favorite offers seafood, wings, po’boys and plate lunches. Menu favorites: You can’t go wrong ordering the hot wings, seafood platter or onion rings.

For the health conscience: If you’re saving your calories for holiday feasts, many of the menu items can be grilled. The New Pelicans on the Bayou also has fresh and delicious salads.

Live entertainment will be offered on the weekend on the deck. In addition, daily plate lunches are coming soon to the New Pelicans on the Bayou. See you there!

Manly menu: If you arrive with an appetite, the seafood platter, which includes stuffed crab, shrimp, oysters, frog legs, catfish and crawfish kickers, is the way to go. Off-menu items: We love that there are glutenfree options! Request menu items be grilled or fried naked or with corn flour. Honorable mentions: Come enjoy a refreshing drink, whether it’s a cocktail or mocktail, on the deck with a view of the beautiful Bayou Teche.

Serving a huge variety of 100 local and domestic craft beers, Growler USA offers a one of a kind concept to the rapidly developing city of Youngsville. The pub also serves lunch and dinner delights like the Short-Rib Queso and the Brewban.
