Tips for darkening mehndi

Before applying mehendi, always wash and towel dry your hands. Never apply moisturizer to them! This forms a barrier that prevents the mehendi from fading.

Create a thick sugar syrup, then spread the gooey concoction over the mehendi with a half-cut lemon. This makes it stay on your skin longer and prevents it from coming off. Applying too much lemon will cause it to bleach, so be careful.

Take a few cloves and toast them on a flat pan or tawa. Once the mehendi has been removed, hold your hands over them and let the aroma of the cloves warm them.

Repeat this a few times or until you can withstand the heat.

To make mehndi paste, only use rose, blossom, rain, distilled, or purified water. No matter where you reside, chlorine is probably present in tap water. The colour of the henna increases with the amount of chlorine in the water.

To be safe, make the henna paste with filtered, distilled, or rainwater. Please boil or keep tap water in a bowl for at least 24 hours if

you must use it to allow the chlorine to dissipate.

Stay away from Henna with Preservatives frequently added by manufacturers to extend the shelf life of their henna pastes. Unfortunately, this changes the paste’s chemistry. You will require freshly applied henna to produce dark mehndi designs.

If they don’t, they run the risk of the irrelevant. It offers the brand opportunity to extend itself to consumers which gives the consumers a lot more touchpoints.

This is an exciting experiment in going

There is no space anymore for mediocrity. There is just space for excellence and something extraordinary for people. If you don’t do it somebody will do it first for you. Digital transformation offers a fantastic opportunity for businesses to learn more about the consumer journey. They use a lot of digital signals, primarily from social that can

inform their decision to come up with better ideas to win the consumer’s heart.

Our predictions for the next few years are capital raising with companies that have a handle on technology and that are communicating with technology. One of the biggest things we see is around the whole idea of diversity and inclusivity at the forefront of consumers’

minds. The next wave is the view of relevancy, establishing an emphatic relationship with the consumer around real values that impact society. There is a great landscape of many technologies. There is very much excitement around these companies and then how they go beyond that into physical brick and mortar, that’s very exciting to think of.

FROM THE VAULT - Richa Jha

“Balance Is Important in Both, Job and Passion”,

Model Richa Jha was always fond of the limelight. While pursuing Mass Media, she

finally realized that she is keener on the entertainment domain and fashion industry. From that day till now, she never looked back and has completed three years in this industry.

“While doing my graduation in mass media, my interest in modeling and fashion increased. I used to participate in all the fests, contests, and ramp held in my college. From there onwards, I started following my passion.”

As everyone knows, good things do not come easily. The same followed Richa Jha as well. Her family did not support her beginning. It took quite a long time to convince them.

“After the completion of my post-graduation, I got a job as a content writer. And, I started my professional modeling. But, my parents were not convinced about this. As you know I am from Bihar and most of our parents expect us to be either IAS or Engineer. At that time too, my parents were not that convinced for opting career in mass media. Though, they agreed and I am the only one

in my family who opted a different career from others. But modeling was a completely new thing for them with no future ahead due to lack of exposure to this industry. Now my parents are convinced as they know I am earning well along with modeling.”

Richa believes that in this industry along with the caliber, one should have good networking with people. Communication is an important part of this industry and also balancing both profile and marketing in social media with work is crucial.

The struggle is part and parcel of life be it any industry. Sharing her experiences on this she said,

“To be honest, the struggle I faced was finding genuine network and people to work with. There is bad influence everywhere, where people try to fool you. Secondly, it is very difficult to maintain your profile and being consistent in working upon your skills. There is a massive competition outside and to stand out, you

should have a balance in every aspect.”

Richa has worked with famous brands and companies. The first professional shoot was with Ajio Fashion Jewelers in Mumbai. Also, she has done many ramp shows like Made In India Swadeshi and Mercedes Benz show by Aatarah and Chal Charkha clothing brand. She also represented many clothing brands AJIO, Shein, and many more. And, she was also interviewed on News 18 Hindi channel as well.

Talking about body positivity and rejection, Richa Jha also faced rejection many times for being skinny.

“I was rejected so many times by saying ‘you are too skinny.’ I felt so bad and I started to compare myself with other models. But eventually, I gained more confidence in myself after seeing many top models who are not perfect. No one is perfect. It is just how we present ourselves.”

Her opinion towards the impact of social media on this industry as well as in models’ life was

quite precise.

“Social media has a great impact on us. Most of the agencies and companies contact you through social media only. It has been a great source of networking and connection with designers and recruiters.”

Discussing LGBTQ and queer communities, she is quite supportive of them. She supports their genuine hard work and dedication in this industry.

“Most of the people do not know about them and they do not even try to know. That is the saddest part that without knowing them, people judge and treat them differently or not let them work which is completely wrong.”

Apart from modeling, Richa Jha loves reading and writing. She is currently working as Content Head for Velar Health Organization. And also worked as a freelance writer for various media outlets like Times Now, Zee News, and many more. She loves to sing and is also a statelevel roller skater.

Holi, the festival of colours is just round the corner, however don’t worry we have got you covered with our exclusive tips and tricks that you could follow this season be it calories your skin or hair.

Drink plenty of water Holi celebrations can be strenuous and draining physically. To prevent dehydration and other health problems, it’s critical to maintain hydration and consume lots of water. To replenish your electrolytes, you can also drink more hydrating liquids like coconut water, lemonade, or buttermilk.

Sun protection is advised In the spring, when it's nice and sunny outside, Holi is frequently observed. Use sun protection and reduce your exposure to UV rays that could harm you. Wearing a hat or carrying an umbrella can help you protect

yourself from the sun, or you can celebrate in the early or late hours of the day when the sun is not as strong.

Use petroleum jelly or lip balm to protect your lips from becoming dry and chapped. To shield them from UV damage, you can also use a lip balm with SPF.

When you wash your hair after playing Holi, use a gentle shampoo to avoid harming your hair or scalp. Also, you can replenish the hydration and nutrition in your hair by using a conditioner or hair mask.

After playing Holi, stay away from blow drying or using hot products like hair straighteners on your hair because they might harm your hair even more. Use a cold setting on your blow dryer

or let your hair air dry instead. Avoid consuming alcohol or smoking while playing Holi, as they can dehydrate your skin and make it more susceptible to damage.

Take a break from playing Holi if you feel too hot or tired. Rest in a cool and shaded area and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

If you have any cuts, bruises,

or wounds on your skin, avoid playing Holi or getting colors on those areas. This can prevent the colors from entering your bloodstream and causing further damage to your skin.

If you experience any skin irritation, redness, or rashes after playing Holi, consult a dermatologist immediately. They can prescribe appropriate medication or treatment to

relieve your symptoms and prevent any further damage to your skin.

Use a gentle face wash to cleanse your face after playing Holi. Avoid using hot water or harsh soaps, as this can strip your skin of its natural oils and cause dryness.

Apply a hair serum or oil to nourish and protect your hair after washing it. This can

also help prevent any frizz or damage caused by the colors and keep your hair smooth and manageable.

If you have oily skin, use a waterbased or gel-based moisturizer instead of a heavy cream. This can help hydrate your skin without making it feel greasy or clogging your pores.

Avoid using hot water to wash your face or hair after playing

Holi, as this can strip away the natural oils from your skin and hair. Instead, use lukewarm or cool water to wash and rinse.
