Colostrum is one of the most commonly used feeding methods for calves used by Colombian farmers. To be able to determine if there are any differences concerning physical and immunal development of six Jersey calves and six Holstein calves (that recieved different qualities of colostrum), a comparative study was made taking into account some morphological variables (weight height, weight gain) and immunological variables (hematocrite, glucose, hemoglobine, percentage of immunoglobulin absortion). It was found that the physical development of the two breeds does not depend on the colostrum quality, while the immunological development is directly influenced by its quality.
