City sidewalks, busy sidewalks
Dressed in holiday style
In the air there’s a feeling of Christmas
Children laughing, people passing
Meeting smile after smile and on every street corner

you’ll hear
Silver bells, silver bells
It’s Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling, hear them ring
Soon it will be Christmas day
Strings of street lights
Even stop lights blink a bright red and green
As the shoppers rush home with their treasures
Hear the snow crunch
See the kids bunch
This is Santa’s big scene And above all this bustle
You’ll hear
Silver bells, silver bells
It’s Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling, hear them ring
Soon it will be Christmas day

“(There’s
Oh, there’s no place like home for the holidays
‘Cause no matter how far away you roam
When you pine for the sunshine of a friendly gaze
For the holidays you can’t beat home sweet home
I met a man who lives in Tennessee, he was heading for Pennsylvania and some homemade pumpkin pie
From Pennsylvania, folks are travelling
Down to Dixie’s sunny shore
From Atlantic to Pacific
Gee, the traffic is terrific
Oh, there’s no place like home for the holidays
‘Cause no matter how far away you roam
If you want to be happy in a million ways

For the holidays you can’t beat home sweet home
Take a bus, take a train
Go and hop an aeroplane
Put the wife and kiddies in the family car
For the pleasure that you bring
When you make that doorbell ring
No trip could be too far

Go, tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere. Go, tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born.
{Christmas verses}
While shepherds kept their watching over silent flocks by night, behold throughout the heavens, there shone a holy light.
Go, tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere. Go, tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born.
The shepherds feared and trembled when high above the earth rang out the angel chorus that hailed our Saviour’s birth.
Go, tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere. Go, tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born.
And lo, when they had heard it they all bowed down and prayed. They traveled on together to where the Babe was laid.
Go, tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere. Go, tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born.
Down in a lowly manger our humble Christ was born, and God sent us salvation, that blessed Christmas morn.
Go, tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere. Go, tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born.
{Traditional verses}
When I was a sinner, I prayed both night and day. I asked the Lord to help me, and he showed me the way.
Go, tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere. Go, tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born.
When I was a seeker, I sought both night and day. I asked the Lord to help me, and He showed me the way.
Go, tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere.
Go, tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born.
The Lord made me a watchman upon the city wall, and if I am a Christian, I am the least of all.
Go, tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere. Go, tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born. SPONSORED BY

You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen, Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen. But do you recall the most famous reindeer of all?
Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer, had a very shiny nose, And if you ever saw it, you would even say it glows. All of the other reindeer, used to laugh and call him names; They never let poor Rudolph join in any reindeer games.
Then one foggy, Christmas eve, Santa came to say, Rudolph, with your nose so bright, won’t you guide my sleigh tonight? Then how the reindeer loved him, as they shouted out with glee, Rudolph the red-nose reindeer, you’ll go down in history.

Rockin’ around the Christmas tree at the Christmas party hop. Mistletoe hung where you can see, every couple tries to stop.
Rockin’ around the Christmas tree, let the Christmas spirit ring. Later we’ll have some pumpkin pie, and we’ll do some caroling. You will get a sentimental feeling when you hear voices singing, Let’s be jolly, Deck the halls with boughs of holly.
Rockin’ around the Christmas tree, have a happy holiday, Everyone dancin’ merrily, in the new old-fashioned way.

Come, they told me, Pa-rum-pum-pum-pum
Our newborn King to see, Pa-rum-pum-pum-pum
Our nest gifts we’ll bring, Pa-rum-pum-pum-pum

To lay before the King, Pa-rum-pum-pum-pum
Rum-pa-pum-pum, rum-pa-pum-pum.

So to honor Him, Pa-rum-pum-pum-pum, When we come.

Baby Jesus, Pa-rum-pum-pum-pum
I am a poor boy, too, Pa-rum...
I have no gift to bring, Pa-rum...
That’s t to give a King, Pa-rum...
Rum-pa-pum-pum, rum-pa-pum-pum. Shall I play for you, Pa-rum-pum-pum-pum, On my drum?

Mary nodded, Pa-rum-pum-pum-pum
The ox and lamb kept time, Pa-rum...
I played my drum for Him, Pa-rum... I played my best for Him, Pa-rum... Rum-pa-pum-pum, rum-pa-pum-pum.
Then He smiled at me, Pa-rum-pum-pum-pum, Me and my drum.

Oh the weather outside is frightful, But the fire is so delightful, And since we've no place to go, Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
It doesn't show signs of stopping, And I've bought some corn for popping, The lights are turned way down low, Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! When we finally kiss goodnight,

How I'll hate going out in the storm! But if you'll really hold me tight, All the way home I'll be warm.
The fire is slowly dying, And, my dear, we're still good-bying, But as long as you love me so, Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

I’ll be home for Christmas
You can count on me
Please have snow and mistletoe And presents on the tree
Christmas eve will find me
Where the love light gleams
Oh, I’ll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams
My darling, Christmas eve will find me
Right where the love light gleams
And I’ll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams
If only in my dreams

Just hear those sleigh bells jingling, ring ting tingling too
Come on, it’s lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you
Outside the snow is falling and friends are calling “Yoo-hoo”
Come on, it’s lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you
Giddy-up giddy-up giddy-up let’s go
Let’s look at the snow , We’re riding in a wonderland of snow
Giddy-up giddy-up giddy-up it’s grand , Just holding your hand
We’re gliding along with the song , Of a wintry fairy land
Our cheeks are nice and rosy , And comfy cozy are we
We’re snuggled up together like two , Birds of a feather would be
Let’s take the road before us , And sing a chorus or two Come on, it’s lovely weather , For a sleigh ride together with you
There’s a birthday party at the home of farmer Gray
It’ll be the perfect ending of a perfect day

We’ll be singing the songs we love to sing without a single stop
At the replace while we watch the chestnuts pop. Pop! Pop! Pop!
There’s a happy feeling nothing in the world can buy
When they pass around the coffee and the pumpkin pie
It’ll nearly be like a picture print by Currier and Ives
These wonderful things are the things , We remember all through our lives

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas; everywhere you go, Take a look at the five and ten, it's glistening once again With candy canes and silver lanes aglow
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas; toys in every store But the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be On your own front door
A pair of hop-a-long boots and a pistol that shoots Is the wish of Barney and Ben Dolls that will talk and will go for a walk Is the hope of Janice and Jen
And Mom and Dad can hardly wait for school to start again
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas; everywhere you go, There's a tree in the Grand Hotel, one in the park as well It's the sturdy kind that doesn't mind the snow
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas; soon the bells will start, And the thing that will make them ring is the carol that you sing Right within your heart

I’m dreaming of a white Christmas. Just like the ones I used to know.. Where the treetops glisten and children listen to hear sleigh bells in the snow.
I’m dreaming of a white Christmas with every Christmas card I write. May your days be merry and bright and may all your Christmases be white.
I’m dreaming of a white Christmas just like the ones I used to know. Where the treetops glisten and children listen to hear sleigh bells in the snow.

I’m dreaming of a white Christmas with every Christmas card I write. May your days be merry and bright and may all your Christmases be white.

I want a hippopotamus for Christmas. Only a hippopotamus will do. I don’t want a doll, no dinky Tinkertoy. I want a hippopotamus to play with and enjoy.
I want a hippopotamus for Christmas I don’t think Santa Claus will mind, do you? He won’t have to use our dirty chimney flue Just bring him through the front door that’s the easy thing to do.
I can see me now on Christmas morning, creeping down the stairs. Oh, what joy and what surprise when I open up my eyes to see my hippo hero standing there.
I want a hippopotamus for Christmas. Only a hippopotamus will do. No crocodiles, or rhinoceroseses. I only like hippopotamuseses. And hippopotamuses like me too.
I want a hippopotamus for Christmas. A hippopotamus is all I want. Mom says the hippo would eat me up, but the teacher says a hippo is a vegetarian.
I want a hippopotamus for Christmas. The kind I saw this summer at the zoo. There’s lots of room for him in our two car garage. I’d feed him there and wash him there and give him his massage.
I can see me now on Christmas morning, creeping down the stairs. Oh, what joy and what surprise when I open up my eyes To see my hippo hero standing there.
I want a hippopotamus for Christmas. Only a hippopotamus will do. No crocodiles, or rhinoceroseses, I only like hippopotamuses. And hippopotamuses like me too.

While shepherds watched their flocks by night All seated on the ground The angel of the Lord came down And glory shone around And glory shone around
“Fear not,” he said, for mighty dread Had seized their troubled minds “Glad tidings of great joy I bring To you and all mankind, To you and all mankind.”
“To you in David’s town this day Is born of David’s line The Savior who is Christ the Lord And this shall be the sign And this shall be the sign.”
“The heavenly Babe you there shall find To human view displayed And meanly wrapped in swathing bands And in a manger laid And in a manger laid.”
Thus spake the seraph, and forthwith Appeared a shining throng Of angels praising God, who thus Addressed their joyful song Addressed their joyful song
“All glory be to God on high And to the earth be peace; Goodwill henceforth from heaven to men Begin and never cease Begin and never cease!”

The holly and the ivy, when they are both full grown, Of all the trees that are in the wood, the holly bears the crown.
Oh the rising of the sun, and the running of the deer, The playing of the merry organ, sweet singing in the choir.
The holly bears a blossom, as white as any ower, And Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ, to be our sweet Saviour.
Oh the rising of the sun, and the running of the deer, The playing of the merry organ, sweet singing in the choir.
The holly bears a berry, as red as any blood, And Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ, to do poor sinners good.
Oh the rising of the sun, and the running of the deer, The playing of the merry organ, sweet singing in the choir.
The holly bears a prickle, as sharp as any thorn, And Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ, on Christmas day in the morn.
Oh the rising of the sun, and the running of the deer, The playing of the merry organ, sweet singing in the choir.

On the first day of Christmas, my true love sent to me a partridge in a pear tree.

On the second day of Christmas, my true love sent to me two turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree.
On the third day of Christmas, my true love sent to me three French hens, two turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree.
On the fourth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me four calling birds, three French hens, two turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree.
On the fifth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me five golden rings, four calling birds, three French hens, two turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree.
On the sixth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me six geese a-laying, five golden rings, four calling birds, three French hens, two turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree.
On the seventh day of Christmas, my true love gave to me seven swans a-swimming, six geese a-laying, five golden rings, four calling birds, three French hens, two turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree.

On the eighth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me eight maids a-milking, seven swans a-swimming, six geese a-laying, five golden rings, four calling birds, three French hens, two turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree.
On the ninth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me nine ladies dancing, eight maids a-milking, seven swans a-swimming, six geese a-laying, five golden rings, four calling birds, three French hens, two turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree.
On the tenth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me ten lords a-leaping, nine ladies dancing, eight maids a-milking, seven swans a-swimming, six geese a-laying, five golden rings, four calling birds, three French hens, two turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree.

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens, brown paper packages tied up with strings, these are a few of my favorite things.
Cream colored ponies and crisp apple strudels, door bells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles. Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings. these are a few of my favorite things.
Girls in a white dresses with a blue satin sashes, snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes, silver white winters that melt into springs, these are a few of my favorite things.
When the dog bites, when the bee stings, when I’m feeling sad, I simply remember my favorite things, and then I don’t feel so bad.

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, Jack Frost nipping at your nose, yuletide carols being sung by a choir, and folks dressed up like Eskimos.
Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe help to make the season bright. Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow will find it hard to sleep tonight. They know that Santa’s on his way. He’s loaded lots of toys and goodies on his sleigh. And every mother’s child is gonna spy to see if reindeer really know how to fly.
And so I’m offering this simple phrase to kids from one to ninety-two, although its been said many times, many ways:
Merry Christmas to you!

Tues -Thurs11am-9pm Fri -Sat11am-10pm Sun11am-9pm

Oh, by gosh, by golly, it’s time for mistletoe and holly Tasty pheasants, Christmas presents Countrysides covered with snow

Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock.
Jingle bells swing and jingle bells ring. Snowin’ and blowin’ up bushels of fun. Now the jingle hop has begun.
Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock. Jingle bells chime in jingle bell time.
Dancin’ and prancin’ in Jingle Bell Square in the frosty air.
What a bright time, it’s the right time to rock the night away.
Jingle bell time is a swell time to go glidin’ in a one-horse sleigh.
Giddy-up jingle horse, pick up your feet.
Jingle around the clock. Mix and a-mingle in the jinglin’ feet.
That’s the jingle bell rock.
That’s the jingle bell.
That’s the jingle bell.
That’s the jingle bell rock.

Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me; Let there be peace on earth, the peace that was meant to be.
With God as our Father, Brothers all are we, Let me walk with my brother in perfect harmony.
Let peace begin with me, let this be the moment now; With every step I take, let this be my solemn vow.
To take each moment and live each moment in peace internally. Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me.

What child is this, who, laid to rest,
On Mary’s lap is sleeping, Whom angels greet with anthems sweet While shepherds watch are keeping? This, this is Christ the King, Whom shepherds guard and angels sing; Haste, haste to bring Him laud, The babe, the son of Mary!
Why lies He in such mean estate Where ox and ass are feeding?
Good Christian, fear: for sinners here
The silent Word is pleading. Nails, spear shall pierce him through, The Cross be borne for me, for you; Hail, hail the Word Made Flesh, The babe, the son of Mary!
So bring Him incense, gold, and myrrh; Come, peasant, king, to own Him! The King of Kings salvation brings; Let loving hearts enthrone Him! Raise, raise the song on high!
The virgin sings her lullaby. Joy! joy! for Christ is born,

Christmas time is here
Happiness and cheer
Fun for all that children call Their favorite time of the year
Snowflakes in the air
Carols everywhere
Olden times and ancient rhymes Of love and dreams to share
Sleigh bells in the air
Beauty everywhere
Yuletide by the fireside
And joyful memories there
Christmas time is here
We’ll be drawing near Oh, that we could always see Such spirit through the year
Oh, that we could always see Such spirit through the year…

I’ll have a blue Christmas without you I’ll be so blue thinking about you
Decorations of red
On a green Christmas tree Won’t be the same If you’re not here with me
And when those blue snow flakes start falling
And when those blue memories start falling You’ll be doing all right with your Christmas of white But I’ll have a blue, blue, blue, blue Christmas
Decorations of red
On a green Christmas tree Oh, won’t be the same If you’re not here with me
I’ll have a blue Christmas, that’s certain And when that blue heartache starts hurting You’ll be doing all right
With your Christmas of white But I’ll have a blue, blue Christmas

Sleigh bells ring, are you listening?
In the lane, snow is glistening A beautiful sight, we’re happy tonight. walking in a winter wonderland!
Gone away is the bluebird, here to stay is a new bird. He sings a love song as we go along, walking in a winter wonderland!
In the meadow we can build a snowman, then pretend that he is Parson Brown. He’ll say “Are you married?” we’ll say “No man! But you can do the job when you’re in town”.
Later on, we’ll conspire as we dream by the fire, to face unafraid, the plans that we’ve made, walking in a winter wonderland!
In the meadow we can build a snowman, And pretend that he’s a circus clown We’ll have lots of fun with mister snowman, Until the other kids knock him down.
Later on, we’ll conspire as we dream by the fire, to face unafraid, the plans that we’ve made, walking in a winter wonderland! Walking in a winter wonderland!

I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus
Underneath the mistletoe last night. She didn’t see me creep down the stairs to have a peep; She thought that I was tucked up in my bedroom fast asleep.
Then I saw Mommy tickle Santa Claus Underneath his beard so snowy white; Oh what a laugh it would have been If Daddy had only seen Mommy kissing Santa Claus last night.

I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day Their old familiar carols play, And wild and sweet the words repeat Of peace on earth, good will to men.
I thought how, as the day had come, The belfries of all Christendom Had rolled along the unbroken song Of peace on earth, good will to men.
And in despair I bowed my head: “There is no peace on earth,” I said, “For hate is strong and mocks the song Of peace on earth, good will to men.”

Then pealed the bells more loud and deep: “God is not dead, nor doth he sleep; The wrong shall fail, the right prevail, With peace on earth, good will to men.”

Till, ringing singing, on its way, The world revolved from night to day, A voice, a chime, a chant sublime, Of peace on earth, good will to men!

Santa Baby, just slip a sable under the tree for me, been an awful good girl
Santa Baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight
Santa baby, a 54 convertible too
Light blue, I’ll wait up for you, dear Santa baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight
Think of all the fun I’ve missed
Think of all the Fella’s that I haven’t kissed
Next year I could be just as good
If you’ll check out my Christmas list
Santa Baby, I want a yact and really that’s not a lot
Been an angel all year

Santa Baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight
Santa Honey, one little thing i really need
The deed to a platinum mine
Santa Baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight
Santa cutie, fill my stocking with a duplex
And cheques, sign your ‘x’ on the line
Santa cutie, and hurry down the chimney tonight
Come and trim my Christmas tree
With some decorations bought at Tiffany’s I really do believe in you
Let´s see if you believe in me
Santa Baby, forgot to mention one little thing
A ring, I don’t mean on the phone
Santa Baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight
Hurry down the chimney tonight
Hurry…tonight.

You’re a mean one, Mr. Grinch, You really are a heel, You’re as cuddly as a cactus, you’re as charming as an eel, Mr. Grinch, You’re a bad banana with a greasy black peel!
You’re a monster, Mr. Grinch, Your heart’s an empty hole, Your brain is full of spiders, you have garlic in your soul, Mr. Grinch, I wouldn’t touch you with a thirty-nine-and-a-half foot pole!
You’re a foul one, Mr. Grinch, You have termites in your smile, You have all the tender sweetness of a seasick crocodile, Mr. Grinch, Given a choice between the two of you I’d take the seasick crocodile!
You’re a vile one, Mr. Grinch, You’re a nasty wasty skunk, Your heart is full of unwashed socks, your soul is full of gunk, Mr. Grinch, The three words that best describe you are as follows, and I quote, “Stink, stank, stunk”!

Did one of your friends or family member recently move into a new home? If so, give them a Christmas gift that will help them settle in. Here are a few examples.

2. CLEANING PRODUCTS
Give your loved one some of your favourite flooring, window, appliance and shower cleaners to keep their space tidy.
3. A TOOLBOX

Are you looking forward to putting up your Christmas tree and decorating your home for the holidays? If so, you may be wondering whether a real or artificial tree is best. Here’s a short guide to help you make the right choice.
REAL: A real tree is an eco-friendly option, especially if it’s grown locally. When properly disposed of at the end of the holiday season, it can be used to make compost and mulch or feed farm animals.
Keep in mind you must regularly water a real tree and vacuum any fallen needles. While pine trees
smell great, they have a limited lifespan and aren’t ideal if you enjoy decorating early for Christmas.
FAKE: Though artificial trees are manufactured in large facilities that produce pollution, they can last several years. If you reuse your tree for at least 15 years, it may be the more ecological choice. However, you must carefully store your fake tree to keep it in good condition. This means you must set aside space for it in your home. Make sure to purchase a high-quality tree to ensure the branches and needles don’t fall out prematurely.

Each year on the twenty-fifth day of Kislev, which typically falls during the month of December, adherents of the Jewish faith celebrate the festival of Chanukah. Although Chanukah may not bear the same religious significance as other Jewish holidays, it is a wellknown celebration.
Chanukah commemorates the rededication of the Temple by the Maccabees in 165 BC after its desecration by the Syrians. Although there was not enough oil left to light the Temple for even one night, lamps remained illuminated for eight straight days and nights. Thus Chanukah is known as the Festival of Lights, which incorporates many unique traditions.

Perhaps the most visible and important Chanukah tradition involves the menorah. While traditional Jewish menorahs have seven branches, the Chanukah menorah, known as the hanukkiah, actually has nine branches. There are eight candles and a ninth, which is called the shamash, is used to light the other eight. The menorah is lit each night after sundown.
Chanukah gelt is money given as presents during the festival. It is typically offered to children and sometimes to teachers. Other gifts have now largely replaced the coins once offered, and gelt is sometimes chocolate.

Greek-Syrians outlawed Jewish studies at one point, so the Jews spun dreidels to pretend they were only playing games. Really they were engaged with their scripture. The tradition of spinning the dreidel endures as a Chanukah tradition.
The miracle of the burning oil extends to the foods enjoyed during Chanukah. Many of the holiday foods are prepared in oil, including latkes (fried potatoes) and sufganiyot, which are fried, jelly-filled doughnuts. According to Town & Country magazine, millions of jelly doughnuts are consumed in Israel throughout Chanukah.
An authentic Chanukah celebration often includes traditional dishes served in the spirit of celebration and
gratitude. Brisket is frequently prepared for Chanukah dinners. Brisket was adopted because it was affordable and delicious. Jewish brisket is braised, and served with carrots, potatoes and other vegetables. Brisket may be served alongside another Chanukah dish, kugel, which is a casserole made from eggs and noodles
Although Christmas cookies may be ubiquitous this time of year, cookies often are part of Chanukah traditions as well. Some cookies are cut to look like dreidels or stars. Those who want to incorporate the miracle of oil into their baking can seek recipes that use oil in place of butter in the cookie batters, something that can make them dairy-free and also vegan.
Chanukah begins on December 25, 2025, and will last through January 2, 2026. It’s a festive time to embrace many time-honored traditions.

Is there someone on your holiday shopping list who’s a foodie? Are you looking for a gift that’ll satisfy both their taste buds and passion for cooking? If so, here are four ideas to inspire you.
1. Reusable accessories. Consider offering your foodie reusable coffee filters, produce bags, pastry bags, muffin tins or other items that will help them enjoy and preserve their kitchen creations.
2. Cooking classes. Whether on-line or in-person, a cooking class is a great way for the foodie in your life to discover new dishes and learn an array of culinary techniques.
3. Food subscriptions. If your loved one is a coffee, candy or chocolate connoisseur, consider buying them a themed subscription box. Alternatively, you may want to gift them a basket of fresh produce and local foods to spark their creativity.
4. Artisanal products. Curating a custom gift basket that includes regional delicacies such as hot sauces, cheeses, wines and oils is a great way to inspire your loved one to cook using local ingredients.
Keep an eye out for products, services and activities in your region for further ways to satisfy the epicurean on your shopping list.

Getting children in on the fun of decorating for the holiday season makes this time of year that much more special. Children who make their own ornaments and other items can proudly display them all season long.
There are plenty of handmade holiday crafts to keep little fingers occupied. Here are some ideas to spark imagination and hours of creative fun.
A visit to the craft store will uncover various items that can be turned into snow globes. Look for a plastic cookie jar-like container with a lid that screws on tightly;
otherwise, choose glass mason jars. Use a general ratio of one cup of water, three teaspoons of glycerine or an oil like baby oil or mineral oil, and a few teaspoons of glitter. Glue a plastic Christmas tree or snowman figurine to the underside of the lid of the jar with a rubberized adhesive or another glue that will hold up to wet conditions. When dry, replace the lid, invert the jar and watch the snow fall.
Salt dough is a modeling dough made from two cups of allpurpose flour, one cup of salt, and about 3/4 cup of water. Mix the

ingredients together and knead until the dough is smooth and easy to work with. Add more flour if it’s too sticky; more water if it’s too dry. Kids can use cookie cutters to cut shapes from the rolled-out dough, or sculpt freehand. Remember to poke a hole through the top of the ornament to thread through string or ribbon later on. While the dough can be dried out by air in about a week, a faster method is to bake in an oven at 250 F for 11/2 to two hours, or until the dough is dry and hard. Kids can then paint the dried creations.
Children may delight in making lifesized gingerbread girls and boys they can decorate and then hang up on the wall. A roll of brown postal paper will work, as will other embellishments like markers, paints, crayons, or ribbon. Kids take turns being traced while lying down on a piece of rolledout paper. Then the general shape is cut out and decorated. Children can raise their arms, bend their legs, or vary their positions to give life to the gingerbread figures.
It can be fun to create a diorama or small winter landscape that can be set out with other decorations. Craft stores will likely sell small, plastic evergreen trees this time of year, or they may be available in the model train aisle of a local hobby shop. The trees can be given snowy boughs with a little acrylic paint. Include figures of bunnies, deer and whatever else kids can dream up. A thin strand of LED, battery-operated lights can add some illumination to the scene. Secure all items to a piece of cardboard or foam board for ease.
Children can make the most of their time crafting items for holiday decorating.

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care in the hope that Saint Nicholas soon would be there.
Then, what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer, a little old driver so lively and quick, I knew in a moment it must be Saint Nick.
More rapid than eagles his reindeer all came as he shouted, “Oh Dasher” and each reindeer’s name. And so up to the housetop the reindeer soon flew with the sleigh full of toys and Saint Nicholas, too.
Down the chimney he came with a leap and a bound; he was dressed all in fur, and his belly was round. He spoke not a word but went straight to this work, and filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk.
And laying his finger aside of his nose, then giving a nod up the chimney he rose. But I heard him exclaim as he drove out of sight, “Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!”
