Catholic League Hall of Fame On Monday, June 12, 2017, Matt Godin ’12 and Anthony Darkangelo ’13 were inducted into the Catholic League Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2017. Matt was not able to be present due to his commitment with the Houston Texans in the NFL. Anthony was in attendance with his family. Furthermore, legendary CC football coach Tom Mach was named a “Legend of the League.” Matt graduated from Catholic Central in 2012 and earned All-Catholic and All-State Dream Team honors after helping lead the Shamrocks to a 12-2 record and a State Finalist finish. Matt earned a scholarship to the University of Michigan where he earned three varsity letters and was named All-Big Ten Honorable Mention in his senior season.

Anthony graduated from CC in 2013 and earned All-Catholic and All-State Dream Team honors after helping lead the Shamrocks to a 9-5 record and a State Finalist finish. He earned a scholarship to the Ferris State University where he earned four varsity letters and All-GLIAC and All-American honors while helping lead the Bulldogs to two GLIAC titles and a Division II semifinals appearance. Coach Mach served as head football coach at CC for 41 years beginning in 1976 and retired after the 2016 season. His career record is 370-94 with 17 Catholic League Championships, 17 State Finals appearances, and 10 State Championships. Tom was inducted into the CHSL Hall of Fame in 1988 and honored as the Ed Lauer Person of the Year in 2004. Additionally, Coach Mach was inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 2014.
