Our rich musical experiences continue with Luckley Online. Home Choir - The Music department would like to unite the Luckley community-pupils, staff, parents, alumni (and pets!) through weekly virtual singing. Mrs Ellwood will be hosting a weekly rehearsal online, which will be open to everyone. Join us on Thursdays at 17:00 to sing together some great favourites, from Beatles to Take That! If you would like further details, please complete this form. Senior Choir- An opportunity for our senior students to enjoy singing together and music from various genres, including well known classics and more popular arrangements. Songs will be arranged for 3 to 4 parts so all can enjoy the challenge of singing in harmony. Junior Show Choir- This is a new choir we are starting due to popular demand. Students will be able to enjoy singing and performing songs from their favourite West End musicals. Swing Band- Come and play fun and catchy jazz arrangements for our young woodwind and brass players along with a rhythm section. Orchestra- (By invitation)-Luckley Musicians are invited to join our large orchestral ensemble and play lots of different types of music, including famous classics to film and show music. Music Tech- A new club for our budding young song writers and music technicians to learn composing skills and how to use the industries music software. (Paid activity) Rock School- Currently for Year 10 & 11. Rock School is run by James Mitchell our Guitar teacher and has already built up a great reputation for its rock performances. If you play guitar, bass guitar, keyboard, drums or sing, sign up and come and join the band. Junior Rock School is being run by Mr Phillip Lupton as part of extended day. Watch their latest amazing performance here (update 5 Feb 2021) Tour Choir - As the choir prepare hopefully to go on tour to Salzburg in July, we will hold sectional rehearsals during this time of remote learning. Music Theory lessons – These lessons continue through this half term, do contact Mrs Ellwood for details.

Luckley Young Musician of the Year Competition: The closing date for first round of Luckley Young Musician of the Year Competition Sunday 21 February. Those students who are successful, to go through to the semi-final will perform in a streamed performance on Tuesday 23 March Musical Theatre Competition: From Legally Blonde to Les Misérables, the world of Musical Theatre has something for everyone and is the perfect way to show off both musical and dramatic skills combined. This competition is run by the ISA and open to all Luckley pupils. Click here for details. Spotlight on Music: On Thursday 25th February at 1pm, there will be a Q&A with Christopher Hann, a choral director and professional singer, currently the Director of Berkshire Youth Choir, works with the National Youth Choir and many other ensembles.
