Exp 1B presentation

Page 1

On Tuesday 9:30am you will be presenting your ‘physiology composition’ and a range of supporting documents. The composition will be physical – interactive ‐ and designed to a highly resolved level both in ‘working’ and in ‘communication qualities’. Think of your work as an active 3d sketch. Supporting documentation will be viewed from your Tumblr site. (please provide details asap) Supporting documentation Tell the story….. Your physiology: The area of focus ‐ the range of movement – graphical communication Measurement: Photos that communicate physiology and movement Digital transfer of information i.e. soild‐works models assemblies etc Combinations: Laminations of composition and the body Composition: ‘White box’ Photography of your ‘physiological object’ this could show movement etc The prototype should be both a highly considered design composition and exact in performance. The method of making will require transfer of measurements to solid‐works and the creation of parts suitable to be made on the schools rapid prototyping machine. These parts should include your own designs for bearings/pivots/connections. Spans between joints may be reproduced with functional but simple materials such as small diameter tube, and muscle with rubber or springs. Dependant on the size of your selected body part you may need to scale the model, please use established scales i.e. 1:2. Images that accompany your presentation must be of a high quality and demonstrate the use of graphics and data as a persuasive method of communication. Assessment Criteria: • • • •

Accuracy and general validity of the measurements Effective recording, analysis, categorising and translation of data Craft in composition, digital translation and dynamic prototyping Representation of 3d information in a 2d format.
