The Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra (JSYM) delivers a glorious variety of world-class symphonic music, reflecting Jacksonville’s diverse audiences.

Led by Music Director and Principal Conductor Fabio Mechetti, the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra’s 2011-2012 season is pure excitement, featuring violin superstar Joshua Bell, a three-month Beethoven Festival, Puccini’s La Bohème, Copland’s Appalachian Spring, Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony, and Mozart’s “Jupiter” Symphony.

The Orchestra also offers the best in popular entertainment this season, with Canadian Brass, Cirque de la Symphonie, Ballroom with a Twist, Pirates of the Caribbean music with film, and Michael W. Smith in a special Christmas performance.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: What should I wear? Going to the Symphony is always a special occasion; therefore, most people enjoy dressing up a bit. You’ll see concertgoers in business formal attire, business casual and everything in between. Your concert experience should be comfortable and enjoyable, so dress up or down to your preference.

When do I clap? Silence between movements helps maintain concentration during a symphonic work, so that the applause at the end becomes a true outpouring of appreciation. Cameras and recording devices are not permitted. We appreciate your cooperation in avoiding talking during concerts.

What if I arrive late? Latecomers are seated after the conclusion of the first work on the program. Patrons who leave the hall during the performance will not be reseated until after the completion of the piece.

May we bring children? Children five years and above are welcome at all concerts. Children of all ages are welcome at Family, Nutcracker and Youth Orchestra concerts. Every child over one year old requires a ticket.

By Phone: (904) 354-5547 Speak with a customer service representative. JSYM Box Office hours are Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and 90 minutes before the start of the concert (no phone service).

Online: Log on to www.JaxSymphony.org.

Mail: Fill out the order form provided and mail with your payment.

Groups: Groups of 10 or more receive a 15% discount on the ticket price. Call Bill Cosnotti at (904) 356-0426 for info.
