Preface from the Ambassador In 2020, Poland and Indonesia are celebrating the 65th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations.

Both countries are precious partners for each other. The value of our relationship lies in the wealth of mutual offers and the diversity of our cultures. This explains the enthusiastic reception of Polish political, artistic, business, educational, tourist, culinary and other projects in Indonesia as well as the interest in Indonesia in Poland.

There are many elements that both countries have in common. These include the rush to learn, a high level of aspirations related to living conditions, curiosity about the world, concern for the state, the traditional family and the willingness to participate in solving global problems. A symbolic, but a paradoxical sign of our relations relates to our national flags. White-red and red-white, may seem fundamentally different, but in reality are so close.

I wish the contestants success in finding an artistic form illustrating the anniversary of diplomatic relations between Poland and Indonesia.

W 2020 roku Polska i Indonezja świętują 65 rocznicę nawiązania stosunków dyplomatycznych. Obydwa kraje są dla siebie cennymi partnerami. Wartość naszych relacji polega na bogactwie wzajemnych ofert i na odmienności kulturowej naszych propozycji. To tłumaczy entuzjastyczne przyjmowanie polskich projektów politycznych, artystycznych, biznesowych, edukacyjnych, turystycznych, kulinarnych i innych w Indonezji oraz zainteresowanie Indonezją w Polsce.

Jest wiele elementów wspólnych które łączą oba kraje. Należą do nich pęd do uczenia się, wysoki poziom aspiracji związanych z warunkami życia, ciekawość świata, troska o państwo i tradycyjną rodzinę oraz chęć posiadania udziału w rozwiązywaniu globalnych problemów świata.

Symbolicznym, wszelako paradoksalnym znakiem naszych relacji są nasze flagi państwowe. Biało-czerwona i czerwono-biała, są zasadniczo odmienne, a jednak tak sobie bliskie. Życzę uczestnikom konkursu sukcesu w znalezieniu artystycznej formy ilustrującej rocznicę relacji dyplomatycznych pomiędzy Polską a Indonezją.

Pada tahun 2020, Polandia dan Indonesia akan merayakan peringatan ke 65 tahun terjalinnya hubungan diplomatik antara kedua negara. Keduanya adalah mitra yang sangat berharga untuk satu sama lain. Nilai hubungan keduanya terletak pada kayanya bidang kerjasama yang saling menguntungkan dan keberagaman budaya yang ditawarkan. Hal ini menjadi alasan adanya penerimaan yang antusias dari bidang politik, seni budaya, bisnis, pendidikan, pariwisata, kuliner dan proyekproyek Polandia lainnya di Indonesia begitu juga sebaliknya dengan ketertarikan Indonesia pada Polandia.

Ada banyak elemen dasar yang menghubungkan kedua negara. Hal ini termasuk dalam keinginan untuk belajar, aspirasi yang tinggi untuk kondisi kehidupan, keingintahuan mengenai dunia, kepedulian terhadap negara dan keluarga tradisional serta keinginan untuk berpartisipasi dalam memecahkan permasalahan dunia secara global. Sebuah simbol, paradoks dari hubungan diantara kami adalah bendera nasional kami. Putih-merah dan merah-putih, secara fundamental berbeda, tetapi sangat dekat.

Saya berharap para kontestan akan berhasil menemukan suatu bentuk artistik yang menggambarkan perayaan hubungan diplomatik yang terjalin antara Indonesia dan Polandia.

Sidik Radityo Radityo Sidik is a graphic designer based in Nunukan, Indonesia.

He obtained his BA from University Muhammadiyah of Yogyakarta.

Currently he works as a graphic designer (freelancer) and Public Relation Staff in North Kalimantan Provincial Government from Nunukan Indonesia.

A few words from the winner ,,The story behind the logo was that I wanted to represent the relationships between Indonesia and Poland in various fields as a limitless relationship by putting an infinity symbol and blend it with 65 as the age number. Later, the wave flag was to express the dynamics of relationships for decades�.

ANNEX | ABOUT THE PROJECT

Contest for the logo was part of the celebration of the 65th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Poland and Indonesia.

The main organizer was the Embassy of Poland in Jakarta, the main Partner of the contest was the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology in Warsaw (PJAIT).

The graphic design of the logo contest was done by Karolina Kwiek, a student of the PJAIT. Karolina Kwiek made this project as a part of her BA project, under supervision of Agnieszka Ziemiszewska, prof. PJAIT. Karolina’s project includes: — design of the website of the contest — facebook, mailing, promotion etc.

— design of posters — accepting and registering competition entries — communication with contestants and jury members — supervising the voting process — design of the layout and typesetting of post-competition album

The project was conducted in the period of March 2019 – June 2020
