Join us for this Southwest holiday tradition that features the sights and sounds of nine entertainment ensembles, including the return of Simply Three. NEW BUTTERFLY PAVILION In Spring of 2017, experience the spectacular life cycle of Southwestern butterflies at the Garden’s expanded butterfly exhibit. Located on the Harriet K. Kessler explores the awe-inspiring element of water in beautiful paintings that blur the line between abstract and realist art. Renowned for creating the illusion of depth on a flat surface, Kessler’s paintings capture the dynamic qualities of refracted light using a technique he has perfected over 25 years.

The Garden has five thematic trails that exhibit cactus and succulent species from around the world. Interpretive exhibits along the trails highlight desert wildflowers, conservation, desert plant adaptation and ethnobotany.

Since 1939, the Desert Botanical Garden has been home to one of the finest and most diverse collections of succulent plants, including rare, threatened and endangered species from around the Southwest and the world. It is the only botanical garden in the world whose mission, from its early inception, was to focus solely on desert plants.
