We prepare the students to create a greener world by focusing on sustainability, regenerative farming, environmental advocacy, and food accessibility. A portion of the produce grown in our garden is donated to area food pantries. We utilize our garden to educate our students to create a better, healthier and environmentally responsible future for our city and our planet.

Rooted in the Catholic Tradition and Vincentian Charism, we embrace the critical role of Catholic education in this place and time, and engage our student body wherever they are on the spectrum of belief and practice
In keeping with Saint Vincent’s central question, “What must be done?” we learn what it looks like to bring people from the margins into community through service. Prayer and liturgy are part of everyday life at the school, in addition to annual retreats through which we explore our God-given unique gifts and our identity as a beloved creation.
Ours is an urban school that reflects and engages with the multicultural and socioeconomic diversity of our city, cultivating caring relationships within our campus and neighborhood, and extending to our world.
By fostering our unique gifts and challenging ourselves to reach beyond our comfort zones, we develop a sense of confidence, integrity, and high standards that are ultimately expressed in every facet of life.
Rooted in the transformative social service legacy of Saint Vincent de Paul and Saint Louise de Marillac, our experiential service, community engagement, and habits of reflection are integral parts of a formation toward living as a mission-driven adult.
As a Catholic school, our holistic approach teaches us to honor the well-being of heart, mind and body as a gift from God, “fearfully and wonderfully made.”(Psalm 139). This spirit is infused into all that we do at DePaul Prep from the athletics fields and dining hall, to the classroom and chapel.

DePaul College Prep is committed to providing curricular support to students with diagnosed learning differences and ADHD throughout the school. Learning Specialists are able to offer targeted support in reading comprehension, written expression, math and executive functioning. Instructional support is provided in Structured Study Hall and in a targeted group of classes that are taught in collaboration by both a Learning Specialist and content Specialist.
Learning Specialists collaborate with content teachers to ensure that classroom and testing accommodations that are required to optimize student success are met. In addition, Learning Specialists work with students to help them become independent learners by providing strategies to develop successful academic attributes in areas such as self-awareness, proactivity, perseverance, goal setting, use of support systems and emotional coping strategies.
The EDGE program (Every DePaul Graduate Excels) is a structured support program which provides a focused space to complete schoolwork and receive assistance from EDGE teachers within a student’s daily schedule. Our team of EDGE teachers administer student specific support in math, reading, writing and executive functioning. Eligibility for EDGE is based on Title 1 rules and requires signed parent permission.
