Why We Need Another Dental Magazine

succeeding in our personal lives. When used correctly, dentistry is a vehicle to help you go out and live a fruitful life But we can only benefit from dentistry if we figure out how to balance each of these three things Without this balance we can lose our purpose and the excitement which brought us into this career

So, I’d like to introduce you to Den tal Lifestyles, the quarterly magazine focused on inspiring you to level up your personal life so your professional life can level up with it This magazine is so named because of the deep need in the dental industry to improve both the success and the fulfillment of doctors all around the world. And the truth is,

success and fulfillment are not a onesize-fits-all plan. Everyone’s definitionof success is different. Everyone’s fulfill-

I Know What You’re Thinking. Why on Earth Would I Need Another Dental Magazine?

There are many other dental magazines out there that focus on either business or clini cian improvement But I still haven’t come across one which addresses the entirety of who we are as people in dentistry We are each individuals who face specific challenges unique to who we are. We continually overcome fears and tackle new challenges Those inner workings of our lives should be celebrated and broadcasted so others can learn about who we are at our core, not just as dental professionals.

I created this magazine to focus on the dental lifestyle. So we have one place to talk about how we balance practicing clinically, owning a dental practice, and

ment comes from different things So I designed Dental Lifestyles to give you a broad array of content to help you improve your business in a way that im proves your personal life. I also designed Dental Lifestyles to share content to introduce you to lifestyle opportunities that other dental professionals have used

to improve their fulfillment.

And just like in business, that means sharing information about how to use leverage in your personal life. Without that leverage point we are often left empty. We become unsteady, unsure, and uninspired when we face the challeng es ahead We lose our passion and can become frustrated with the very career we were so passionate about when we began So we need this I believe the idea of your dental career means much more than just running a business and encompasses all you do, both in your professional and personal life. Who you are at your work is greatly affected by your home life

In order to take both our business and clinical ability to the next level, we need to level up ourselves. We need to focus on who we are, our goals, and what pulls us out of bed in the morning Because all of this plays into the success of your dental career and we cannot take steps forward if we lag behind in our personal develop ment.

So let’s get inspired together!

Top Dental Insurance Myths and Misconceptions

ental insurance is often credited as the #1 worst problem in the dental industry No question, insurance is always going to be a source of frustration After all, we did not join this profes sion to push paper or deal with reimbursement complaints. However, insurance claims can be relegated to a minor annoyance instead of a major problem All it takes is knowing more about it and unveiling the myths and misconceptions that have been perpetuated over the years sur rounding dental insurance.

Maximums Are Not Increasing Because Insurance Companies are Cheap

Now, I am not going to even try to claim that insurance companies won’t do everything possible to save money. However, they would LOVE to increase maximums and thereby increase premiums. The challenge in part rests with the employer, who does not want to the problem with stagnant maximums. The national data shows only 4-5% of dental patients ever hit maximum. So, the employer is

Going OON Will Stop Claim Denials

There can be many legitimate considerations for going out-of-network but doing so because you are tired of getting denied is the worst going out of network. If not corrected, you’ll continue to experience the same denials, even OON. Good news is, with some simple, targeted training, you can solve these problems easily regardless of your network participation.

A unique, two fold product that serves as a dual-curing cement and core buildup material in one

Find out why Susan McMaho n, DMD, believes that Visalys CemCore:

• Makes her team’s wo ow simpler and more streamlined

• Surpasses similar materials in terms of versatility and convenience

Ialways bring products into my practice that offer my team simplicity and versatility. A product that values both of these qualities is Visalys CemCore, which is a dual curing adhesive cementation and core buildup material A strong material that provides optimal adhesive strength as well as superior stability, Visalys CemCore is a unique product in its category and an asset to my practice

I’ve found Visalys CemCore to be particularly useful when placing post and cores and in of ce milled crowns. It makes the whole procedure very simple because the post is cemented with Visalys CemCore and the core is placed using the same product. The crown is prepped, scanned, and milled, and then the restoration is cemented all with the same setup. The core and the cement for the crown are completely compatible

Compared to other materials, I Visalys CemCore’s handling to be surprisingly versatile. It

ows like a cement when loading crowns or posts and it stacks up nicely for cores. It can also be used without a matrix, thanks to the unique Active Connect Technology (ACT), which provides an adhesive bond You can calibrate the ow rate by the amount of pressure you put on the syringe depressor

followed by compatibility. The fewer steps and the least amount of products necessary for procedures means less room for error, simpli d setups for the dental assistants, and a lower cost per procedure.

Visalys CemCore works with all the types of crowns we mill and the Visalys CemCore Restorative Primer is also compatible with all the types of crowns. My tea nds it very valuable that the cementation protocol is the same for all restorations regardless of the material

Catching Up With...

Glenn Vo: So, Bruce, let me ask you about your new book, Legendary Leadership. How did this idea come

Dr. Bruce B. Baird is one of the pioneers of dental practice management. He has helped thousands of dentists take control of their practices to create the productivity and retirement they desire as co-founder of the Productive Dentist Academy. Dr. Baird has now applied his experience and knowledge he has gained over the years in a book called Legendary Leadership The book is filled with strategies to help people unlock the leadership potential within themselves. I recently had an opportunity to talk with Dr. Baird about his new book and his other ventures that benefit dental practices.

Bruce Baird: I wrote a book several years ago called Implant Dentistry, but I never thought I would write a book on leadership I was so bad at leadership early in my career that I could just never even imagine writing a book like that. Not that I’ve reached the goal of legendary leadership but what I believe in is legendary leadership. To be a legendary leader is something to strive for. It’s like having the ideal practice. It’s a des tination that we work for and once I started realizing how important leadership was, my productivity went up and my stress levels went down. Growing up the son of a Marine aviator who was really kind of cathartic I just wanted to be able to help dentists who were struggling with leadership to be able to get them to where they were having fun doing dentistry because dentistry is, as you know, tough!

Glenn Vo: So tough!

Bruce Baird: It is and you know you’re working with people and that’s always a challenge. But I really do love leading people now and I’ve been fortunate enough with my other ventures to be able to do just that Once I learned that it wasn’t all about me, then all of a sudden, things started really happening not only in my life but also in our practice.

Glenn Vo: I’ve always told you that you have this uncanny ability to understand the market, the envi ronment, and what people need Now more than ever, dentists need to just embrace the fact that they’re going to be leaders in their practice.

someone else to do it Let me delegate to someone else recipe for disaster when that person who took up the leadership reins leaves or something happens Talk about why it is so important now for dentists to realize that if you sign up to be a general practice owner, being a dentist is only one of the jobs you have to do Talk about why that’s so important now more than ever.

Bruce Baird: It doesn’t matter whether it’s your prac tice or you’re working at another practice I remember when I was in the military I had a great team around me, and I became very productive. When I got into private practice, it was a lot more stressful I had debt I had things that I was worried about and then all of a sudden, I reverted to my roots. Work hard and I’m going to be successful no matter what and that was just my mantra. But I didn’t realize how important leadership was in being successful. Whether you’re an associate dentist or an owner dentist, it doesn’t make any difference. You still need to lead the people around you and if you don’t get that part of it, then you’ll struggle And I really do think now more than ever, it’s important to have that philosophy of being a leader. It doesn’t have to be that hard Honestly, you just have to

be real with people. I don’t just have employees here I have families that are counting on us A lot of my team were single parents This is their job They’re taking it seriously. They didn’t just come to work to hack me off They were coming to work to do a great job and I

sucked but I really appreciate it has been great and it’s been so much fun.

Glenn Vo: I’m glad that you brought that up We forget about the importance of understanding your team and actually caring about your team like they’re one of your family members We have so many issues A lot of people don’t remember ever going through something like this.

Bruce Baird: Right.

Glenn Vo: You have people deciding to either stay-at-home or maybe go into a different career now There’s so many other opportunities to make money now We’re actually now competing for people Dentists Jones is stealing my assistant or down the street is not doing it. of the world. You’re getting upset at the wrong people here. There’s an abundance of oppor tunity. So let’stalk about having legendary leadership and

treating people right. Why is

People have options. They can go and they can work some where else and make good money as well.

Bruce Baird: They sure can! We’re in this really unique envi ronment and I have to step back a little bit. When COVID hit, all in history that dentists had to actually look at their businesses because they were scared to death They weren’t making any money and all of a sudden

the goal 35 years ago of having an ideal practice I honestly knew I didn’t and I was really frustrated by that I had read a great book called The E-Myth by Michael Gerber, which explains how McDonald’s uses systems to make fries in Granbury, Texas taste like fries every where else And so that’s when we started building systems, and eventually, I had some dental buddies who asked me to teach them systems. That is how we started Produc tive Dentists, with eight of my buddies, and it was crazy. I felt uncomfortable charging them

out of COVID, the ones that had great teams reached their goals even though they had three months of no production.

Glenn Vo: I love that, Bruce, and I’ve said this many times You seem to come up with a solution for a problem in a way that solves it for everyone else Starting from Productive Den tists Academy, which I attend ed, to Compassionate Finance, Abella, and now AcceptCare. So let’s go back a little bit. Let’s just go through the whole timeline here because it seems like each new product or service that you create for the general industry, which helps us all out, was created because of a prob lem you encountered

Bruce Baird: It’s kind of interesting. Somebody told me do at the highest level and then teach others to do it and you’ll

We did $200-300k in payment plans right away, but we didn’t know how to charge interest That’s when I retained attorneys to look at what the usury laws were in all 50 states, cant amount of money making sure that we were doing it correctly. And then it began to grow. In 2011 I founded what, through years of hard work, would evolve into a best-inclass loan servicing and pay ment operations solution Com passionate Finance has helped over 100k patients get access to affordable care and is managing over $250MM in loans.

when Victoria Peterson came in and started working with me. The rest is history and we’ve been growing strong and help for the past 18+ years! As for Compassionate Finance, I had a discussion with a friend of mine

nance ortho cases. I start think started thinking about taking payments with interest and $425 product that I’m selling that! Compassionate Finance started in my own practice

Glenn Vo: Wow, that’s impres sive! You have relationships with these patients too That’s actually what I love about all the programs and services that you’ve created, you used them

goes back to leadership and people skills This is something I learned from you if you have good relationships with your patients, you can look them eye to eye and get to know them... When you get to know some one like that, the chances of them running off on their bill is

Bruce Baird: So much lower

However, the overall interest earned offsets the risk of the ones that may default. Let’s talk numbers. You have to have over a 55% default rate to equal taking 40% off the top with an in-network PPO discount

lower when you give your pa tients an option they can afford while earning up to 100 cents on the dollar with interest So that was really the concept behind Compassionate Finance. Now with the new things that we’re doing, I’m so excited for dentistry.

Glenn Vo: Let’s dive into that. So AcceptCare is another soft ware solution being developed and is going to be launching fairly soon Talk about the formation behind AcceptCare again. And, just to let everyone know, I was kind of part of it too but I’m going to ask Dr. Baird to talk about it because it’s exciting stuff.

Bruce Baird: It is We were growing consistently every year, but we saw that the in dustry is still too tied to getting cash up front, and the leading 3rd party products keep esca lating claims and revolving in and out withoutsolving the core issue the average practice only gets 34% of their recom mended treatment accepted. So we joined up with OrthoFi, the market leader in Orthodon backed by one of the most suc cessful private equity groups in the world. They loved what we do, and wanted to help us grow and develop a product that changes the game. AcceptCare

right to their phone with instant click-to-pay options, so it takes seconds to pay without the team having to track them down. In fact, Abella works so well, patients opt in to pay nearly 40% of the time in the days past due balances.

That’s what is unique about AcceptCare because you can get a team member who isn’t com

because of these things I talked about. Our teams care about patients and want to make sure they’re being taken care of. AcceptCare is going to be great from that perspective.

Glenn Vo: It goes back to legendary leadership, guys. He wrote the book on it, and he ac tually lives it himself, not only in his practice but in all other businesses Now Bruce, I would ask your thoughts on the future of dentistry. Are you optimistic or are you pessimistic and tell

tion that helps practice teams present treatment and payment options in the most appealing way, and combines loans with

their time on the phone with insurance companies trying to get payments on stuff that you shouldn’t have to try to get The other 27% of the time, they’re trying to call patients for them to pay. Well, I don’t know how many people love that job, plus the old methods are becoming more ineffective. That’s where Abella comes in Most practices have at least $50k in over 90 days past-due AR, that’s money that you’ve earned but haven’t been able to collect Abella automates your patient AR invoicing and payment process by searching your management system for past-due receivables, and send ing text messages and emails to patients, which is proven to be more effective than phone calls or mailing paper statements It gives people the opportunity to pay when it’s convenient for them The reminders are sent

Bruce Baird: Well, I’m glad you brought that up because you’ve got team members that have to turn down patients over and over again and pretty soon they don’t even want to offer anything AcceptCare is easy patients the power to choose from all of the options avail able. They can pay in full with a click, choose a short-term installment plan, or they can

down, low monthly, low APR, software is so intuitive that your team doesn’t have to learn a lot of different lender plat forms, and they don’t have to try to diagnose the patient’s

Bruce Baird: I’m super op timistic about the future of dentistry Dentists have many different opportunities now on how they want to practice. You’re going to have to learn how to brand. You’re going to have to learn how to market. But that’s okay, it’s doable with plentiful resources available. It’s a journey and a lot of times if we just focus on ourselves then we start to see all the little cracks, all the little problems When you start focusing on other people, it changes your whole perspective on life and that is really what I’ve been trying to do.

Glenn Vo: I love that! It sounds like the key is just to give more than you take Thank you Bruce for taking the time to update us on what you’ve been doing

Tax Reduction Planning For Multi-Practice Owners

2. Make Sure the Four Core Disciplines Work in Harmony

sure you get the best bite at the tax apple each and every year.

1. Establish a Solid Financial Foundation

Between clinical care, leading your team, and managing your prioritize certain important tasks, such as business and personal tax reduction planning.

What I’ve found is that many business owners end up working than they need to, especially when they can achieve through effective tax reduction planning.

Generally, the reason this occurs is because they don’t have a plan to reduce their tax liability or the support to execute a plan to min imize what they need to send to the IRS. Additionally, because they haven’t considered their longterm tax strategy, they end up with higher tax obligations, giving more money to the IRS than they need to.

The truth is, effective tax planning doesn’t need to take a lot of time It just takes a little bit of focused attention and effort led by some one who understands your world and the tax reduction options you have available.

Here’s a process I recommend you use to free up both time and money, and, of course, typically lower how much money they need to send to the IRS A proactive tax

the average dentist in their client base spends $17,000/month to live. That’s $200,000 per year for living their life style. We go back to the 4% rule For that den tist to live a $200,000 per year lifestyle, that dentist would need to amass $200,000/4% = $5,000,000 in assets [dividing by 4% is like multiplying by 25] to keep the same lifestyle in play for retirement. However, that 4% rule was done in the 1980s when interest rates

During his school years he knew he always had a passion for the entertainment and music industry But, he also understood he had to become well established before he could explore those passions.

Using Purpose to Combat Burnout

This is something many of us in dentistry forget but it is required knowledge for every dentist Because dentistry is hard It can beat you down. Patients do come to you with serious problems they have faced in life, and they hope cosmetic changes to their smile will solve those problems. And we are taught to truly listen and emphasize with our patients, which takes so much energy out of us. Many of us are burnt out of dentistry because of this

Dealing with Stress and Anxiety

paying attention and spending the stress, is imperative in order to make positive changes.

There were days I dreaded going or two, I left early due to the extreme anxiety and stress of not only practice ownership but of the dentistry itself In 2018, a life event smacked me so hard in the face I no longer accepted that this was how it had to be I was determined to learn how to decrease the stress and anxiety surrounding my dental career

Having clear expectations of your schedule and your com munication goals are also ways to keep stress levels down. Do you prefer large procedures

How long do you want for each

It was through intentional awareness that I discovered cer tain procedures and scenarios that increased my anxiety This allowed me to assess whether my anxiety could be improved by better scheduling or per haps if these were procedures I should refer out or obtain more self often stressed, intentionally

about what a perfect day looks and feels like to you Check-in and regularly reassess as it will works for you Also, be open about how you want to commu nicate. We discussed the best way to communicate was to ei ther leave me a note on my desk or send me an e-mail with the task and due date This allows me to take care of tasks when I have the time and mental capacity to do so and my team trusts that I will. The mental load in dentistry is big, help yourself and have open commu nication with your team

We all need breaks and re charge in different ways. I have found I need quiet time during the lunch hour and after work before I go home What you do with that quiet time is com pletely individual. For me, I will read, journal, meditate, go on a walk or just sit depending on what I am feeling that day. This quiet time is a time to do some thing for yourself. If you enjoy working out or doing a yoga class, schedule it Make time for yourself even if you have to change your schedule, so you end your day 30 minutes earlier You give yourself to your pa tients and to your team all day; make sure you take time to take care of yourself and that there is enough of you left at the end of the day for the people who love you most, your family.

Even with all the tools, inevita bly I still have times

Box Breathing

where I become overcome with anxiety In those moments, the

best thing I can do to calm down is box breathing. This is done by inhaling for a count of four, holding your breath for a count of four and exhaling for a count of four. I repeat this 3-4 times and this slows the heart rate and can reduce the stress hormone cortisol enough to help you get through the situation at hand.

Try one or all of these strategies to help manage stress and anx iety in your practice or in your personal life. You are not alone if you are feeling overwhelmed. Being willing to try different stress management techniques

for you will make all the differ ence in being able to manage and work through the feelings when they come up.

-Take your hands and grab onto the side of a counter and pull. Lean back. Stretch.

-You'll be leaning back while holding onto the counter for a counterweight.

-Put your hands on your hips and push forward (arching your back) like you just got out of a car after a long ride.

-Push forward with steady pressure.

-This will be a toe touch. With your back straight, bend down and touch your toes.

-If you are unable to bend down completely, bend to a 90 degree angle to start off with until your muscles stretch more.

Airway: The Circle of Life

Just a few years ago, airway health blew up the world of dentistry, and for good reason We will take approximately 500 million breaths throughout the course of our lives. With

population estimated to have airway and sleep disorders, it seems there is no better place to screen for airway issues, and in some cases, even treat airway disorders, than in the dental chair

Individuals displaying abstract health issues not readily associ ated with breathing are now be ing linked to airway health And we are treating these patients at least twice a year in our prac tices Weight issues, headaches, chronic pain, fatigue, infections, and even behavioral issues are now being linked to all age groups. Sleep and airway issues were originally associated with middle-aged-to-older over weight men. We now recognize there is no age group exempt from its harmful grasp: infants, teens, and men and women of all ages, shapes, and sizes may display signs of impairment.

The mouth is one of the most vital components to overall health, including but not limit ed to craniofacial development,

muscle-tongue position, swal lowing issues, tongue posture, bruxism, issues associated with temporomandibular disorder and periodontal disease. Thus, effectively treating patients requires a multidisciplinary approach.

Airway Circle was created to provide an environment for like-minded professionals across disciplines to collaborate and share pertinent information regarding airway-related issues related to whole body health. Their goal is to deliver the latest research and treatment approaches via weekly webinars and courses to communally elevate airway-focused profes sionals. They strive to promote interdisciplinary collaboration and to become better clinicians overall. Because airway is much more than just sleep, they cover an exhaustive array of topics such as gut health, myofunc tional therapy, sleep disordered breathing, early intervention orthodontics, and tongue ties.

Renata Nehme, Registered Den tal Hygienist and owner of myo functional practice, Myo Moves, founded Airway Circle because she recognized that, while there is an overlap between various specialties, there was a chasm between various disciplines in terms of collaboration. She set

out to create a community of like-minded professionals who were passionate about treating patients as a whole As Renata broadened her understanding of airway health, myofunction al therapy, and dentistry, she realized how many patients she had missed helping in the early years of her profession due to

school-aged children, dis ordered breathing is often revealed as ADHD or ADD, mal occlusion, nocturnal bruxism, poor sleeping and night terrors.

Her goal is to elevate our under standing and enhance our scope of treatment As we broaden our skills, we are better able to connect, share, and collaborate with other healthcare profes sionals to help our patients achieve optimal health.

As health professionals, we are not exempt from life-threaten ing airway issues, either Like our patients, undiagnosed, un

In adulthood, the symptoms, fatigue, tension, restless sleep, migraines, and cognitive impairment are often blamed on stress. Finally, as seniors, a lifetime of airway impairment is compounded in more serious chronic health issues such as heart problems, memory issues, dementia, and hypertension

Stand in a room full of entre preneurs and you’ll hear the buzz of conversation alive with dynamic ideas and goals. Visionaries plan for the future, and fervently prioritize that commitment above all else. They not only stand for their goals, they stand by them.

For most dentists, their goal is to create enough income so they can do the dentistry they want to, not because they have to. For those looking to achieve estate investments, they must stand by the same commitment.

FO OD AND DRINKS

MANGOBERRY MINT VOHITO

I love this drink as it is fairly easy, and will impress your guests. It is powerful, but does’t taste it if you can’t find mango vodka, just use any vodka, and any clear juice… preferably mango cocktail if you can

I have always loved flan since I was a kid in Vietnam. But I never got the chance to indulge in it because it was a dessert for the wealthy back then. I love flan because of its creamy and smooth texture, the caramel and you can dress it up in many ways. Some of the toppings I like to add to my flan are boba, a shot of espresso and/or a dollop of coconut cream along with crushed ice.

This simple drink is one of my favorites.. different than your traditional mojito.. Mangoberry Mint

• First get three stems of mint leaves.

• Strip one and put to the bottom of a Mason glass. Muddle (crush them) as much as you can.

• Fill the mason jar glass half way with frozen strawberries and frozen mango.

• Then add to another quarter of the glass… ice.

• Then pour Mango vodka over it and fill at least to the top of the ice.

• Add to it a splash of iced tea, and do not stir

• Lastly garnish with a quarter mango in any creative way that you can.

FO OD AND DRINK

BIRRIA TACOS

originated in Jalisco, Mexico, and is traditionally a stew made from goat or lamb, slow-cooked in a slurry of spices and peppers

DDS, MS

• 2.5 – 3.0 lbs of boneless chuck roast, Texas-style beef rib, or other meat of your choice

• 2 dried Ancho or Pasilla chilies

• 4 dried Guajillo or Cascabel chilies

• 2 chipotle peppers, canned in adobo sauce, whole

Directions

• 1 can (14.5-oz) of fire-roasted diced tomatoes (regular diced is fine, but without seasoning!)

• 6 garlic cloves

• 2 cups of beef broth or stock

• Ground cumin, 1 tbsp

• Ground coriander, 1 tbsp

• Dried oregano, 1 tbsp

• Course Kosher salt

• Ground black pepper

• 1 medium yellow onion, chopped

• Tortillas (corn or flour, although corn is more traditional)

• Mexican melting cheese, like quesadilla or Oaxaca

• Fresh cilantro, diced onion, pico de gallo, sliced avocado, radish, and other toppings

1 We will begin by making the marinade/consommé Start by bringing 2 cups of beef broth or stock to a boil in a medium pot While the broth is heating up, use kitchen shears or a paring knife to cut off the stems of all dried peppers, and remove the stems, veins, and seeds. Place all the dried peppers in the boiling broth, and remove from heat. Let sit for about 20 minutes to allow the peppers to rehydrate.

2 Once the peppers are soft and tender, place them in a large blender along with 2 chipotle peppers, the can of diced tomatoes, garlic, cumin, coriander, oregano, and about 1 tsp of kosher salt and ½ tsp ground black pepper. Pour the remaining beef broth over everything and puree until smooth.

3 Cut the meat into 2-inch cubes and season with kosher salt and ground black pepper on all sides Turn on your pressure cooker’s “Sauté” function and let it heat up Add about 2 tbsp cooking oil to the bottom of the pressure cooker, and brown the meat cubes on all sides for about 1-2 minutes each side. Brown in batches if needed, and place browned beef cubes in a bowl once done (meat should NOT be cooked all the way through) Also, do NOT drain the juice from the meat This is delicious and will add lots of flavor to the final product!

4 Add a little more oil to the pressure cooker if needed, and toss in the chopped onion Sauté for about 4-5 minutes until caramelized At this point, if anything is stuck to the bottom of the inner pot, pour in about 1-2 tsp of red wine vinegar and deglaze the bottom of the pot (use a spatula or flat wooden spoon to scrape up all the delicious, flavorful bits called the “fond” – and incorporate it into the mix). Cook off the vinegar for 1-2 minutes and turn off the heat

5 Add the meat cubes and their juices to the pot, along with the pepper sauce from the blender, and give everything a thorough mix

6. Place the lid on the pressure cooker, make sure the vent is closed, and pressure cook for 40 minutes on High pressure. Once finished, let the pressure cooker naturally release the pressure for 15 minutes, then release the remaining pressure by opening the vent Be careful with the steam and any splashing liquids!

7. Remove all cooked meat cubes from the stew with a slotted spoon or tongs. Shred the meat using two forks, adding a little of the consommé to the shredded meat when completed to hydrate. Optional: If you want a smoother consommé, use an immersion blender for about a minute or so! This will make for a nicer dipping sauce There is no need to thicken the sauce with flour or corn starch, unless you want to try something new!

8. Once you have a nice bowl of shredded beef and a pot of consommé, it’s time to put the tacos together! Heat up an electric griddle or a
