ΣΤΗΝ ΤΕΛΕΥΤΑΊΑ ΔΟΥΛΕΙΆ που παρουσιάζει η Ντένη Θεοχαράκη θα μπορούσε κανείς να διακρίνει χρονολογικά δύο διαφορετικές, αλλά και αλληλοσυνδεόμενες θεματικές ενότητες, δύο είδη εικαστικής έκφρασης. Η πρώτη ενότητα αφορά στην ‘αθώα’ εποχή, όταν το μυαλό και το κορμί δεν αγωνιούσαν για την ύπαρξη της πρόσφατης θανατηφόρας απειλής που έπληξε όλη την ανθρωπότητα. Σε αυτήν, η ζωγράφος αναπαράγει μνήμες από ταξίδια αναζήτησης και εξερεύνησης σε μακρινές χώρες –κυρίως της Ασίας– εκεί όπου η ζωή κυλάει σε άλλους ρυθμούς και διέπεται από διαφορετικούς πολιτισμικούς κανόνες. Στις περιπλανήσεις της καταγράφει φωτογραφικά ό,τι την ελκύει, και, όταν πια επιστρέφει με την ψυχή της γεμάτη εικόνες, επεξεργάζεται το υλικό της, ζωγραφίζοντας τοπία, ανθρώπους και καθημερινές σκηνές που αφηγούνται τις δικές τους ιστορίες. Τα υλικά της προέρχονται από τις χώρες που επισκέπτεται: χειροποίητα χαρτιά από το Βιετνάμ, το Μπουτάν, το Λάος, την Ινδία και σκόνες ζωγραφικής από μοναστήρια του Θιβέτ και του Νεπάλ. Η δεύτερη θεματική ενότητα αφορά στην επόμενη χρονική περίοδο, κατά την οποία η εικαστικός, συγκλονισμένη από την πρωτόγνωρη πανδημία και τον εγκλεισμό, διοχετεύει το συναίσθημά της σε νέα, πρωτότυπα έργα, εφαρμόζοντας και χειροτεχνικές πρακτικές, στις οποίες προσδίδει νέο αισθητικό περιεχόμενο. Ο φόβος για τον ιό γίνεται κορόνα, άδειο κάθισμα, κεραυνός, δίνη που απομυζά τη ζωή. Η ματιά, άλλοτε καθηλωτικά παρούσα άλλοτε εκκωφαντικά απούσα, είναι ο συνδετικός κρίκος των δύο θεματικών ενοτήτων, χαράσσοντας το μονοπάτι των εικόνων και των μορφών από τα μάτια μας βαθιά μέσα στην ψυχή.

ΟΙ ΑΝΘΡΩΠΟΙ Η απεικόνιση της ανθρώπινης μορφής κυριαρχεί στην τέχνη όλων των εποχών, με τελετουργικό, θρησκευτικό, μεταφυσικό ή μαγικό χαρακτήρα. Η εξέλιξη της προσωπογραφίας, καθώς από σύμβολο αποκτά την ταυτότητα του μοντέλου, έχει ιδιαίτερο κοινωνιολογικό και πολιτικό ενδιαφέρον και φέρει, περισσότερο από τα άλλα είδη τέχνης, τη σφραγίδα του τόπου, της εποχής και του πολιτισμικού επιπέδου. Η Αναγέννηση, αλλά και οι μεταγενέστεροι χρόνοι, έχουν δώσει θαυμαστούς πίνακες, προσδίδοντας κάθε φορά διαφορετικό στίγμα στο ανθρώπινο μοντέλο.

Η διάδοση της φωτογραφίας δεν εξάλειψε την εικαστική απόδοση των μορφών, αλλά αντίθετα λειτούργησε ως πρόκληση. Οι καλλιτέχνες, έως τις μέρες μας, δεν έπαψαν να πειραματίζονται και να παιδεύονται με την απόδοση «αυτού του θαυμαστού ποιήματος, του ανθρωπίνου σώματος», όπως έλεγε ο Delacroix. Τρεις από τους πιο διάσημους σύγχρονους ζωγράφους έδωσαν ο καθένας τη δική του εκδοχή, ζωγραφίζοντας το ανθρώπινο σώμα· ο Francis Bacon έφτασε σε ακραίο σημείο παραμόρφωσης, ο Lucien Freud ακολούθησε τη ρεαλιστική απόδοση και ο Chuck Close προσέδωσε υπερρεαλιστικά χαρακτηριστικά στις τεράστιες προσωπογραφίες του. Μετά τις περιηγήσεις της σε διάφορα μέρη του κόσμου, από την Ανατολή έως τη Δύση, η ψυχή και οι αποσκευές της ζωγράφου ξεχειλίζουν από πλήθος εικόνων και βιωμάτων. Οι φωτογραφικές εικόνες δεν μεταφέρονται αυτούσιες στον καμβά. Το μέγεθος των μορφών, η δυναμική ένταση της πινελιάς, οι έντονες χρωματικές αντιπαραθέσεις, οι χαρακτηριστικές στάσεις των ανθρώπων και το αφαιρετικό φόντο, από το οποίο φαίνεται να ξεπροβάλλουν, προσδίδουν μνημειακότητα στους εικονιζόμενους. Παρουσιάζονται με τα σύνεργα της εργασίας τους, την ώρα της ανάπαυσης, της περισυλλογής, της μετακίνησης. Τα χαρακτηριστικά των προσώπων, τα ιδιότυπα ρούχα, οι στάσεις των σωμάτων μαρτυρούν την καταγωγή τους και τις συνήθειες του τόπου τους. Με ιδιαίτερη ευαισθησία αποτυπώνεται η αδιέξοδη μοναξιά ανθρώπων διαφόρων ηλικιών, με πρόσωπα γεμάτα θυμό, πόνο ή αγάπη για τη ζωή: ένα παιδί κοιτά απορημένο τον φακό· μία μητέρα κουβαλά περήφανα στην πλάτη της τη μικρή της κόρη· μία γυναίκα ζητάει βοήθεια στους δρόμους της πολυσύχναστης Βοστώνης, με τη μορφή της να αποδίδεται λιτά, χρωματικά και σχηματικά· μία άλλη γυναίκα, από τη Δράμα, η τραγική ζωή της οποίας αναδεικνύεται από τα φλογερά χρώματα και τα έντονα χαρακτηριστικά του προσώπου της. Η μοναχική ηλικιωμένη γυναίκα με τη μάσκα και το μπαστούνι της, που στέκεται αναποφάσιστη στο δαιδαλώδες πλακόστρωτο, παραπέμπει εύγλωττα στην ανησυχία των ευάλωτων ατόμων για τη σημερινή κατάσταση και γεφυρώνει τις απεικονίσεις της θεματικής ενότητας των ανθρωπίνων μορφών με τις αφηρημένες αποδόσεις της απειλής του κορονοϊού. Το άδειο παγκάκι, η μετέωρη στάση της γυναίκας, με στραμμένη την πλάτη στον θεατή, η απουσία της ματιάς, αλλά κυρίως η έλλειψη ορίζοντα και ο εγκλωβισμός της στην αέναα επαναλαμβανόμενη διάταξη των αυστηρών γεωμετρικών σχημάτων με τα επιθετικά denny t heocha ra kis | th e s ilen ce of th e gla n ce

χρώματα, η οποία διασπάται μόνο από το κάλυμμα του υπονόμου, επιτείνουν το σιωπηλό, μη αναστρέψιμο αίσθημα του μοιραίου. Σε άλλα έργα, η διάθεση είναι διαφορετική, παιχνιδιάρικη και αμφίσημη. Στη σύνθεση με τους άνδρες και τη βάρκα, η ματιά της ζωγράφου βλέπει από ψηλά τις μορφές, με την πολύχρωμη εξάρτυσή τους, οι οποίες φαντάζουν σαν παιδικά παιχνίδια. Στη μνήμη τής ζωγράφου οι άνθρωποι ταυτίζονται με τον γεωγραφικό χώρο στον οποίο ανήκουν και ο πίνακας ανασύρει στην επιφάνεια και αναδιατυπώνει με μοναδικό τρόπο πολλαπλά επίπεδα συναισθημάτων, ώστε να αποδώσει το μυστήριο της παγιδευμένης εικόνας του αναπαριστάμενου. Ο εικονιζόμενος καθηλώνεται μέσα στον χρόνο και η ευαισθησία και η επινοητικότητα της ζωγράφου έγκειται στο ότι αιχμαλωτίζει σε μία και μόνο πόζα την ενέργεια που πηγάζει από το σώμα και από τις κινήσεις, τα μάτια που κοιτάζουν βαθιά μέσα μας, το βλέμμα που γίνεται ο καθρέφτης της ψυχής.

ΤΑ ΜΑΤΙΑ Το μυστήριο της εικόνας εντοπίζεται στα βλέμματα: στο βλέμμα της ζωγράφου που συλλαμβάνει την εικόνα, στο βλέμμα του εικονιζόμενου που προσκαλεί τον θεατή σε μία άμεση συνομιλία, στο βλέμμα του θεατή που γίνεται κοινωνός της ιστορίας του ήρωα. Η Θεοχαράκη αποφαίνεται: «Πόσο περίεργο, αλλά και όμορφο, το συναίσθημα, με μία μόνο ματιά να αισθάνεσαι ότι μπορείς να μπεις για λίγο μέσα στην ψυχή του άλλου και, κοιτώντας τον στα μάτια ή μόνο θωρώντας την κίνησή του, να βλέπεις σαν σε κινηματογραφική ταινία ένα κομμάτι της ψυχής του, ένα μέρος της ζωής του!» Στα ζωγραφισμένα μάτια η δημιουργός απομονώνει και εξαίρει, με ιδιαίτερη τεχνική στην απόδοσή τους, το βασικό όργανο πρόσληψης των εικόνων, τόσο το δικό της, το οποίο τις επεξεργάζεται εικαστικά, όσο και εκείνο των θεατών, το οποίο τις παρατηρεί. Η απόδοση των ματιών κάθε άλλο παρά ρεαλιστική ή αφαιρετική είναι. Ποικίλα στοιχεία, φίδια, λέξεις, σημάνσεις, κορόνες, άλλοτε ασπρόμαυρα και άλλοτε με χρωματισμένα λάδια πάνω σε χειροποίητο χαρτί, διαμορφώνουν την ίριδα και τη γύρω περιοχή και μεταδίδουν διαφορετικά και αμφίσημα μηνύματα, θυμίζοντας έντονα τις παλιότερές της συνθέσεις του macro-micro cosmos. Με την αποδόμηση και την ποιητική αναδόμηση της εικόνας του ματιού, τα διάφορα κρυπτικά και μικρογραφικά σύμβολα της παράστασης επιτυγχάνουν «ένα εμπνευσμένο ισοδύναμο της οπτικής συγκίνησης», όπως έγραψε ο Γιάννης Ψυχοπαίδης, στον κατάλογο της έκθεσής της το 2013.

ΟΙ ΔΙΝΕΣ ΚΑΙ ΟΙ ΚΟΡΟΝΕΣ Αντιμέτωπη με τις νέες συνθήκες που προξένησε η πανδημία του COVID-19 και ο επακόλουθος εγκλεισμός, η Θεοχαράκη αποτυπώνει πρωτόγνωρα συναισθήματα που αναδύονται από τη συνταρακτική συγκυρία και αλλάζει θεματική ενότητα, εισάγοντας έναν νέο τρόπο έκφρασης με διαφορετική τεχνική.

Από το κλειστό σχήμα του ματιού περνά στο ανοικτό σχήμα της σπείρας. Η σπείρα/δίνη συνδυάζει το σχήμα του κύκλου με τη δυναμική κίνηση. Είναι ένα αρχετυπικό σύμβολο, με πυκνά σημαινόμενα. Υποδηλώνει τον χρόνο που περνά, αλλά και τον ρυθμό, την ανάπτυξη και την εξέλιξη της ίδιας της ζωής, η οποία τώρα απειλείται από τον ιό. Η δεδομένη τάξη ανατρέπεται, δημιουργούνται καινούργιες σπείρες ή διακόπτονται οι υπάρχουσες. Η ζωγράφος στρέφεται σε άλλους εκφραστικούς τρόπους, σε μία ιδιάζουσα μορφή χειροτεχνίας και με πολύ κόπο τρυπά με τη βελόνα της χειροποίητα χαρτιά, κεντώντας σχήματα και γράμματα που προσδίδουν στην εικόνα κρυπτικό νόημα, ενώ στη συνέχεια τα ζωγραφίζει δίνοντάς τους νέα μορφή. Σε κάποια έργα της, ζωγραφισμένα με λάδια ή και σπάνιες σκόνες (με χαρακτηριστικά γήινα χρώματα) φερμένες από μοναστήρια του Νεπάλ, η βελονιά τονίζει το περίγραμμα της σπείρας. Με τη μορφή λαβυρίνθου, η σπείρα υπαινίσσεται την εσωτερική περιπλάνηση της ψυχής στην αναζήτηση της ταυτότητάς της. Συνδέεται, επίσης, με τη μάνταλα της ανατολικής θρησκευτικής παράδοσης και φιλοσοφίας, που αποτελεί μέσο διαλογισμού. Ο Karl Jung, κύριος εκπρόσωπος της αναλυτικής ψυχολογίας, θεωρούσε ότι η μάνταλα αποτύπωνε την ολότητα, την ενότητα και την επιθυμητή αρμονία της προσωπικότητας. Στη δεύτερη χρονική περίοδο, η Θεοχαράκη εμπνέεται από τον περιβόητο στις μέρες μας Coronavirus-Covid 19 που μας απειλεί και τρομοκρατεί. Ο ιός οφείλει την ονομασία του στη διάταξη κάποιων πρωτεϊνών του σε σχήμα... κορόνας! Η ζωγράφος, με διάθεση να ξορκίσει (;) το κακό, σχηματίζει διάφορα μοτίβα που υπήρχαν ήδη στις συνθέσεις των ματιών. Χρησιμοποιεί ζωγραφικές «ψηφίδες» έντονου χρώματος, οι οποίες θυμίζουν αμυδρά κορόνα, και κεντά με κλωστές διαφόρων χρωμάτων μικρά διακοσμητικά γεωμετρικά σχήματα, λέξεις και ερωτηματικά πάνω σε χαρτί, διατυπώνοντας την απορία και την αμηχανία της μπροστά στην απειλή του ιού. Σιγά σιγά, η κόκκινη κλωστή στο χρώμα της φωτιάς αρχίζει να κυριαρχεί ως περίγραμμα, σε αντίθεση με τη χρήση του μαύρου περιγράμματος, που τονίζει τους όγκους έργων πολλών ζωγράφων. Η σιωπή της ματιάς είναι ένας σταθμός στη ζωή και στην καλλιτεχνική πορεία της Θεοχαράκη, η συνέχεια, όμως, του ταξιδιού διαφαίνεται αναμενόμενη και προκλητική.

IN THE LATEST WORK presented by Denny Theocharakis, one might discern two chronologically different, and yet interconnected, thematic entities; two different kinds of representational expression. The first topic is about the age of “innocence”, about the time in which body and mind did not agonise about the recent lethal menace that has afflicted the entire mankind. Amidst this threat, the painter reproduces memories from travels of quest and exploration into far-off lands (mostly in Asia), where life has a different pace and is governed by different cultural norms.

While wandering, she records in photos whatever attracts her eye, and when, at last, she is back and her soul is filled with images, she processes her subject-matter by painting landscapes, people and daily-life scenes that narrate their own stories. The materials she uses originate from the countries she visits: handmade paper from Vietnam, Bhutan, Laos, India; pigments from monasteries of Tibet and Nepal.

The second thematic entity pertains to the next period of time, in which the painter, overwhelmed by the unprecedented pandemic and confinement, channels her emotion into new, original works, applying also handcraft practices, into which she imparts new aesthetic content. The fear for the virus takes the form of a crown, an empty seat, a thunderbolt, a vortex sucking life away.

The eye, sometimes compellingly present and sometimes deafeningly absent, is the connecting link of the two thematic entities, following the trail of images and forms from our eyes all the way deep down into the soul.

THE PEOPLE Throughout the history of art, the depiction of human form prevails in a ritualistic, religious, metaphysical or magical way. The evolution of portraiture, while from symbol assumed the identity of a model, is of particular sociological and political interest, and, more so than other kinds of art, it bears the seal of place, of chronological period and of cultural level. The Renaissance, as well as subsequent periods, has given us miraculous paintings, leaving each time a different mark upon the human model.

The dissemination of photography did not obliterate the representational rendering of 10

the forms; on the contrary, it became a challenge. Artists, until today, have not ceased experimenting and struggling with rendering “this wondrous poem; of the human body”, as Delacroix used to say.

Each of the three most famous contemporary painters presented their own version while painting the human body. Francis Bacon reached an extreme point of disfigurement; Lucien Freud followed the realistic representation and Chuck Close imparted to his huge portraits surrealistic features.

After wandering in various parts of the world, from the East across the West, the painter’s soul and luggage are brimful with numerous images and experiences.

Photographic images are not being transferred upon the canvas in their actual form.

The size of the forms, the tension of the brushstroke, the sharp juxtaposition of colors, the typical postures of people and the abstract backdrop, out of which figures seem to come forward, render a monumental element to those depicted. They are presented along with the tools of their trade, while resting, while ruminating, while moving. The facial features, the unique garments, the postures of the body manifest the origins of these individuals and the customs of their lands.

The hopeless loneliness of people of various ages, whose faces betray anger, pain or the love of life, is being depicted with particular sensitivity: a child stares bewildered at the lens; a mother is carrying with pride her little daughter on her back; a woman, whose figure is rendered plainly in terms of color and lines, begging for a nickel or two in the bustling streets of Boston; another woman from the city of Drama in northern Greece whose tragic life is highlighted by the fiery tints and the sharp features of her face.

The solitary aged woman wearing a mask and holding a walking cane, standing indecisive on the intricate cobblestone pavement refers eloquently to the upsetting circumstances faced by vulnerable people nowadays, and brings together the painter’s representation whose theme is the human figure with the theme of the abstract representation of the virus’s threat. The empty bench, the tentative posture of the woman with her back turned against the viewer, the absence of countenance, but mostly the lack of horizon and the woman’s entrapment in the never-ending repetition of austere, intense-colored patterns, disturbed only by the sewer cover plate, intensify the silent, irreversible sense of fate. denny t heocha ra kis | th e s ilen ce of th e gla n ce

In other paintings, we see a different, whimsical and ambiguous mood. In the composition depicting the men next to the inflatable dinghy, the painter watches the figures from above (bird’s-eye view) who, along with their multicolor equipment, look like children’s toys.

In the painter’s memory, people are being identified with the geographical space they belong to, and each painting brings into surface and rephrases in a singular manner many levels of emotions, rendering the mystery of the entrapped simulacra of those who are depicted. The depicted figures are frozen in time, and the sensibility and resourcefulness of the painter lies on the fact that she captures, in one and only pose, the energy emanating from the body and the movements, the piercing eyes, the glance that becomes the soul’s mirror.

THE EYES The mystery of the image lies on the eyes of those involved: on the eyes of the painter who captures the image; on the eyes of those depicted who invite the viewer into a direct discourse; on the eyes of the viewer who partakes into the story of the depicted hero. Theocharakis comments: “How weird, but still wonderful, is the sense of being able to enter even for a little while into the soul of another being through one and only glance, and to see, as if it were a film, a part of their soul, a part of their life by staring at them straight into their eyes or just by looking at their movement!”

Into the depicted eyes, rendered with a singular technique, the artist isolates and praises the main body organ of perceiving images, both her own, that process the images as a painter, and the viewers’, that watch them. The representation of the eyes is far from realistic or abstract. Various elements, such as snakes, words, signs, crowns, sometimes black and white, and sometimes in oil colors upon handmade paper, form the iris and the area around it, and convey different and ambiguous messages, reminding us vividly of the painter’s older compositions of macro-micro-cosmos collection of paintings.

Through the deconstruction and the poetic construction of the image of the eye, the various mystifying and micrographic symbols of representation achieve “an inspired equivalent of visual emotion”, as Jannis Psychopedis wrote for the catalogue of her exhibition in 2013.

VORTEXES AND CROWNS Facing the new circumstances brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent confinement, Theocharakis illustrates unprecedented emotions emerging from the shattering circumstance, and moves on to another theme, introducing a new way of expression through a diverse technique.

From the closed, circular shape of the eye she passes on to the expanding form of the 12

vortex that combines the shape of the circle with dynamic motion. The vortex is an archetypal symbol bearing a dense content. It denotes the time that elapses, as well as the rhythm, the development and evolution of life itself that now is menaced by the virus. The established order is overturned either by the creation of new spirals or the interruption of existing ones. The painter turns her attention to different ways of expression, to a particular form of handicraft and she toils over stitching with her needle handmade sheets of paper, embroidering shapes and letters conferring a mystical meaning upon the image, and then she paints over them, giving them a new form.

In some of her works, painted with oils or even with rare color powders (of typically earthy hues) procured from monasteries, the stitching emphasizes the outline of the spiral. In the form of a maze, the spiral suggests the inner wandering of the soul in the quest for its identity. It is also connected with the mandala of the religious and philosophical tradition of the East; a means for meditation. Karl Jung, the main exponent of analytical psychology, believed that the mandala represented the sense of wholeness, of unity and the desirable harmony of a personality.

During the second period, Theocharakis draws inspiration from the currently infamous Coronavirus-19 that threatens and terrorises us. The virus’s name originates from the arrangement of some of its proteins forming the shape of a crown!1 The painter, in the mood to exorcise(?) the evil, draws various motifs, already existing in the compositions depicting the eyes. She forms patterns of intense colors, reminding vaguely of a crown, and she embroiders with threads of diverse colors small decorative geometric shapes, words and question marks upon paper, articulating her puzzlement and awkwardness while facing the threat of the virus. Bit by bit, the outline of the red thread, as red as a blaze, becomes the dominant one, contrary to the black outline that usually delineate the volumes of works of many painters.

The silence of the glance is a landmark in the life and the artistic course of Theocharakis; yet, the sequel of the journey appears to be expected and challenging.

Βιογραφικό Η ΝΤΈΝΗ ΘΕΟΧΑΡΆΚΗ λατρεύει να ταξιδεύει ανά τον κόσμο και να απαθανατίζει με την φωτογραφική της μηχανή εικόνες καθημερινής ζωής. Παρόλο που κάθε χώρα έχει τα δικά της ήθη και έθιμα, στις διαδρομές της δεν σταματά να εκπλήσσεται από τις ομοιότητες που διατρέχουν τις φαινομενικά διαφορετικές κουλτούρες των λαών. Οι ταξιδιωτικές της εμπειρίες μετασχηματίζονται σε τέχνη. Μέσα από τα ποικίλα ερεθίσματα και συναισθήματα που βιώνει παρατηρώντας διαφορετικές πτυχές της παγκόσμιας καθημερινότητας, πλάθει στα έργα της μία νέα πραγματικότητα, φαινομενικά πολύπλοκη, δαιδαλώδη. Μία πραγματικότητα η οποία όπως και στην πραγματική ζωή είναι γεμάτη ξέχωρα μονοπάτια που οδηγούν σε διαφορετικούς προορισμούς. Η καλλιτεχνική της δημιουργία διαφοροποιείται, αρνούμενη να ταυτιστεί με συγκεκριμένα ρεύματα ή τεχνοτροπίες. Η γραφή της είναι ασυμβίβαστη και περιπετειώδης, και αναζητεί διαρκώς νέους τρόπους έκφρασης με διαφορετικά υλικά, υφές και τεχνικές. Η Ντένη Θεοχαράκη έχει παρουσιάσει τα έργα της τόσο σε ατομικές αλλά και σε ομαδικές εκθέσεις στην Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό. Ένα έργο της έχει επιλεγεί να αποτελεί μέρος της μόνιμης συλλογής της Εθνικής Πινακοθήκης της Ελλάδος. Είναι κάτοχος ΜΒΑ από το NΥU Stern Business School, απόφοιτος του τμήματος Οικονομικών Σπουδών του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών και απόφοιτος της Ανωτάτης Σχολής Καλών Τεχνών της Αθήνας.

Biography DENNY THEOCHARAKIS loves traveling around the world and using her camera to capture moments of everyday life at her destinations. Even though each country has its own culture and way of living, she never ceases to be amazed by how similar at their core these seemingly foreign and distant cultures are.

Her travel experiences form the basis of her artwork. Using the memories and feelings from her observations of the different aspects of daily life in the world she creates in her artwork a new, seemingly complicated, reality. A reality, that like in real life, is full of different distinct paths leading to different destinations.

Her art creations are constantly changing, evolving, as she refuses to be associated with a particular school of thought or style. Her style is uncompromising, adventurous. She is in constant search for new ways to express herself using different materials, textures, techniques.

Denny Theocharakis has presented her work in solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad. One of her paintings belongs to the permanent collection of the National Gallery of Greece.

She holds an MBA from NYU Stern Business School, a BA in Economics from National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and she is a graduate of Athens School of Fine Arts.
