“Vision 2025 challenges Delta Sigma Phi to be leaders in their community, on campus and in their chapter,” Huston said. “Our support and guidance will be rooted in creating America’s Leading Fraternity with each member’s involvement.” New Chapter Development? Doesn’t everyone call it expansion? New Chapter Development (NCD), a segment of Chapter Advancement, has been a game changer for Delta Sig’s future. Over the past four years, the Fraternity has been developing a philosophy, which differs from our peers, in regard to building chapters. Within Delta Sig’s New Chapter Development model, staff members create new chapters and drive them to become the highest performing chapters. “We believe there is a stark contrast between what other fraternities call ‘expansion’ and what we do with New Chapter Development,” Huston said. “We do not recruit 80 men and leave them with a new member manual and contact information for their regional consultant.” What Delta Sigma Phi does differently from perhaps other organizations, is handle all of the developmental aspects of new chapters throughout colonization and after

the chapter is chartered. New Chapters are built with a five year strategic plan that aligns with the Fraternity’s Accreditation program and goals of Vision 2025. The Fraternity develops a five-year plan with each new chapter to set them up for sustained success versus focusing on the present. New chapters also identify their vision immediately upon colonization; this in turn is utilized by staff as a process for holding the new chapters accountable to their stated purpose as creating a chapter of the Fraternity. Delta Sigma Phi’s process extends not only into the students who are recruited and the process to help them succeed, but also into the institutions Delta Sig partners with. The Fraternity aligns with institutions that have common links between Delta Sigma Phi, people of the institution, their mission, expectations and values. This better prepares us to build a chapter that will be a top chapter both nationally and per each institution. “To accomplish our goals in Vision 2025, our staff works alongside outstanding alumni, volunteers, collegiate members and campus professionals,” Huston said. “We all believe in our vision and are working hard to achieve it.”
