FROM THE FOUNDATION CHAIR

For an electronic version of this year’s Annual Report, including a full list of donors and those who’ve given for 30 years or more, please visit deltasig.org/ar.

Brothers, friends, and supporters, It is my pleasure to provide you with Delta Sigma Phi Foundation’s Annual Report covering our 2021 fiscal year (July 1, 2020 – June 30, 2021). This was a historic year for our Foundation, the National Fraternity, our ACBs, and all undergraduates. Just like many non-profits, Delta Sigma Phi Foundation experienced a challenging year. That being said, with good leadership, fiscal responsibility, and strong planning, our Foundation had what we defined as a successful year. When universities and colleges resumed classes last fall, the Foundation decided to provide more scholarship dollars to undergraduates, and we are pleased to report that because of alumni support, the Foundation provided more undergraduates with scholarship assistance than ever before! We also continue providing grants to alumni corporation boards (ACBs) for chapter house construction, educational improvements, and ongoing maintenance. The Foundation is grateful for alumni who contribute to their chapter’s fund held at the Foundation in order to provide a vibrant and healthy chapter living experience, as current undergrad Jake Licht can attest to. I am grateful to my fellow Foundation trustees for their service and support. We hope you enjoy getting a glimpse of your impact and the stories in the Delta Sig ecosystem. Thank you very much for your support to our men and our great Fraternity! YITBOS,

Brad Sullivan, Transylvania ‘99 President, Delta Sigma Phi Foundation Board

“The Foundation has allowed me to continue being an active, contributing member of my local chapter on my college campus and constantly work to repay the debt. Thanks to its contribution to my education I can continue to make myself, my brotherhood, and my community a better place for others to come and start the journey towards becoming better men.” Jake Licht, Dickinson ‘19

BETTER MEN. BETTER LIVES. OUR MISSION Our mission is to empower and encourage our members to become Better Men – men of culture, men of harmony, and men of friendship. Our vision is to become America’s leading fraternity, with an unparalleled leadership experience; recognized as among the most respected and influential organizations on campuses; and a culture that compels all living members to actively participate. “Delta Sigma Phi played a large role in my growth and development throughout college. Now in graduate school, I consider myself very fortunate to have these lasting relationships and such a supportive alumni network. Thank you to the Foundation for all their work and contributions. Rishabh Mazmudar, Case Western Reserve University ’14

Delta Sigma Phi strives to ever convince the world of the sincerity of our purpose through a mission of Building Better Men. Our brotherhood inspires each member to be better versions of themselves and positively impact the world through their actions and influence.

OUR HISTORY & PURPOSE The Delta Sigma Phi Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds for Fraternity programming, education, and leadership development. Since its founding in 1953, the Foundation has contributed immensely to the development of Delta Sigma Phi members. Without the Foundation’s support, funding for Delta Sig’s values-based, educational, and developmental programs falls on the shoulders of our undergraduate members, whether through membership dues or other out-of-pocket expenses. The Fraternity’s mission is to Build Better Men. Imagine how many more men could grow into their best selves if our national programming was more accessible and affordable for all members.

WHAT DOES THE FOUNDATION FUND? • Scholarships and grants Money given to undergraduate and alumni members for educational purposes eases financial burdens and allows recipients to pursue degrees and internship opportunities vital to their future success. • National programs The Foundation funds speakers and offsets costs for LEAD Weekend and the Leadership Institute attendees who need financial assistance. The Foundation is proud to help expand access for all members who can benefit from leadership development. • Educational resources Fraternity resources like The LAMP provide critical, on-demand information about chapter operations, as well as personal and professional development opportunities. • Chapter housing Grants are provided to ACBs for educational spaces in our chapter facilities.

“The Foundation may be the single most influential element of my leadership and personal life. I have been beyond blessed to have experienced and grown so much from the many leadership programs that they have helped fund or create. From the Better Man Academy, Presidents Academy, Leadership Institute, to all the other tiny opportunities the Foundation has created for me. Those opportunities are what led to me discovering my passion for leadership, and what ultimately led me to pursue a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership. The Foundation has truly embodied everything we preach about Repaying the Debt. I will spend the rest of my life in pursuit of repaying all that this organization and the Foundation have been able to provide me. Joining this organization was the single most impactful thing to ever happen to me and I am thankful every day for the opportunity to be a part in this.” Chris Blacker, University of Northern Colorado ’15

“I am truly thankful for the Delta Sigma Phi Foundation for picking me as one of the recipients for the 2021 McKee Scholarship. Upon receiving the news, I was immediately filled with joy. Receiving this scholarship boosted my selfconfidence, knowing that I not only completed a very important task but also took the responsibility of creating a foundation for getting me closer to my career goals. The scholarship award will only push me further towards my biology major at UCLA and my dream of one day having a successful career as a pediatric neurosurgeon.

Our Foundation Annual Fund team sat down with Jason DeKeuster, Wisconsin-Eau Claire ‘95, one of the donors who helped us ride out the storm of the pandemic, to discuss the importance of Paying the Debt. “The Delta Sigma Phi Foundation was an instrumental partner in helping the Alpha Gamma Chapter at Georgia Tech realize its vision for building a new chapter house. We partnered throughout our fundraising and construction journey to offer donors options for tax-deductible giving to support house educational rooms and equipment. As an individual donor, giving could not have been easier, and it was seamlessly integrated with our third-party alumni communications partner and donation recordkeeper. As an ACB President, it was easy to apply for and receive grants of those Foundation funds, which enabled us to pay for qualifying construction and equipment expenses. The Delta Sigma Phi Foundation continues to be an excellent partner and steward of funds for our chapter, as we look ahead to further improving our chapter house for generations of Delta Sigs to come.” - Stan Hill, Georgia Tech ‘02

I want to personally thank each and every brother and friend of Delta Sigma Phi reading this for their continued support of our mission to Build Better Men. Thanks to your donations of time, talent, and/or treasure, we have been able to provide a space for men of many generations to foster invaluable leadership skills, establish eternal bonds of friendship, create philanthropic forces of good that transform communities for the better, and so much more. Investing in Delta Sigma Phi means directly changing the lives of more than 4,600 current undergraduate brothers for the better, and the possibility to change countless other lives in the many years to come. From the bottom of my heart, I thank all who have given to this great Fraternity. Let us all continue to “Pay the Debt” as we continue to convince the world of the sincerity of our purpose. YITBOS, Michael Nacy, Missouri S&T '17 Grand Council - Undergraduate Director
