About KYC/AML

Welcome to the world of KYC & AML

Financial and economic crime can be defined as illegal acts committed by an individual or a group of individuals with the aim of achieving financial or professional gain, mainly for economic reasons. The prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing is crucial for a stable and sound financial system, and for effectively fighting all forms of serious crime. Financial institutions play a key role in this process as the gatekeepers of the financial system.

The purpose of anti-money-laundering (AML) and anti-terrorist financing legislation is to prevent crime and to keep a number of sectors, including the financial system, clean. Under this legislation, financial institutions are required to help prevent money laundering and terrorist financing. To do so, they are expected that they perform client due diligence (CDD) when they onboard clients or conduct transactions.

In short, KYC means Know Your Client and is determining the purpose and intended nature of the business relationship. This includes the client’s transaction pattern, both before and when a transaction is conducted. Based on CDD, the financial institution will decide whether the risks associated with entering into and maintaining the business relationship are acceptable.

Over the years, the KYC & AML domain developed into a specialized departments within the compliance domain. Proper KYC and AML client reviews and transaction investigations are often complex and require specific knowledge. Traineeship Outline

Our KYC/AML Traineeship contains the following 4 phases.

Phase 1 – Starter (internal)

4 weeks inhouse training, for more details please refer to Appendix 1.

Phase 3 – Junior to Medior skill level development (internal & external)

After your onboarding period with one of our clients, you will receive 3 hours of training per month for the remaining months of your traineeship. You will also have coaching sessions and social events. In Year 2, you will move to a Medior Analyst level.

Phase 2 – Starter (external)

Onboarding program within our renowned client’s KYC/ AML Department in one of our managed KYC Teams. The length of this program depends on the client and the nature of the assignment.

Phase 4 – Medior+ (internal & external)

After successfully finishing your traineeship at the end of Year 2, you preferably switch assignment to gain new experiences.

Year 1 of the KYC Talent Program

A start salary of ¤2.850,00 in the first 12 months of the traineeship

► 8% holiday allowance

In month 12 of the traineeship, your development and performance will be evaluated with you Field Manager. After successful completion of the first year, you will receive a promotion to Trainee Medior Analyst

Year 2 of the KYC Talent Program

A salary raise to ¤3.350,00 in the second year (as of month 13) of the traineeship in combination with an indefinite contract with Delta Capita as Trainee Medior Analyst

Appendix 1 Phase 1 program details

The traineeship starts with 4 weeks of extensive training, to ultimately prepare the trainees for their first KYC/AML assignment at Delta Capita’s client. Amongst focusing on an overall Master Plan, the key topics of the Program are the following:
