LASALLIAN FAMILY VISION AND RULES Vision Statement of The Lasallian Family of Papua New Guinea “To give a Human and Christian education to the young, especially in schools, with the service of the poor as a priority, in order to evangelise and catechise, to promote peace and justice, accomplished together as a shared mission.� (42nd General Chapter of the Brothers of the Christian Schools) We, members of the Lasallian Family of PNG called by the Father, touched by the life of the Son, guided by the Spirit, endeavor to give a human and christian education to young people, especially the poor and marginalised, inspired by Saint John Baptist de La Salle and gifted by his charism. Together and by association, we strive to form youth to open their hearts to the love of God, to the needs of others, and to be mindful of varying cultures We aim to build up the church through the young people entrusted to our care.

The Lasallian Family Members of PNG: RULE OF LIFE 1. A daily morning prayer of 20-30 minutes, to include personal prayer and prayerful reflective reading of the Scriptures and the Meditations for the Time of Retreat 2. To develop the habit of regularly reciting the Lasallian six decades of the Rosary. 3. To pray the Lasallian prayers in the classroom. IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT Lasallians within close distances of each other (same of nearby schools) meet regularly, make monthly contact with other Lasallians by writing, email, mobile phones, wear the Lasallian identity of medal or cross or badge when appropriate.
