The spoken Word is powerful and can become the driving force behind our destinies. The Word of God confirms this truth in Proverbs 18:21

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will

eat its fruit.” We have the choice to speak life giving words into our lives but most times we find ourselves speaking negatively. We must choose to speak positively even in trying circumstances and our circumstances must not change our confession. From the very beginning the power of words is demonstrated when God spoke the World into existence. He spoke and it manifested. Every human being is created in the image of God, we also have the creative power in us and as such we need to be careful with the words we speak.

Matthew 12:37 “For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” Our own mouths can keep us in spiritual prisons and at the same time they can elevate us to great heights. What are we saying out there? Are we not ruining our progress and falling into the trap of our confession? It is important to reflect on what we have been carelessly confessing.

Proverbs 18:7 “A fool’s mouth is his ruin, and his lips are the snare of his soul.” I have heard parents cursing their children through the words that they speak in moments of anger, others speaking negatively into their children’s future. Calling our children fools, ignorant, good for not]hing and many other words that are negative will not help them attain their destinies. We are encouraged by the Word of God in the book of James, to be slow with our words: James 1:19 “My dear brothers and sisters, take

note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to

become angry.” Our confession must always be consistent with the Word of God. Our Words are the programmers of our destinies. Let us make sure that we confess the Word of God even in difficult circumstances. The Bible says in Joel 3:10 “Let the weak say I am strong” In other words you confess strength during weakness, you do not wait to be strong then confess your strength, no, you begin to declare it while you are weak. When you are sick confess healing, when you lack confess abundance, this is how the spirit realm operates.

2 Corinthians 4:13 It is written: “I believed; therefore I have spoken.” Since we have that same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore we speak.

Child of God do not be ignorant of the power of the spoken Word. I encourage you to speak positively over every challenging situation you might be facing right now, begin to speak the Word of God and align your confession to His Word. You are the Prophet of your destiny. “I am a conqueror; I am victorious through Christ! No weapon fashioned against me will prosper! You are an overcomer!
