HELLO & WELCOME

Little Lochies is a diverse community, grounded, not grand, where each boy’s unique learning journey begins.

Our approach is outward and forward thinking. We do not stand still. We value the indoor and outdoor classroom. We offer a dynamic, enriching, exciting, and broad curriculum, designed to capture each child’s curiosity. It supports key areas of learning through holistic enquiry and play-based approaches, encompassing personal, social and emotional development. There is significant opportunity and energy. Our bespoke offer is one of encouragement and challenge.

Complementing and connecting across our learning programme, our Learning Powers and Core Values contribute to the holistic development of each child and shape the School’s ethos across the Nursery, Reception and beyond. Our resolute aim is to ensure our boys are well rounded Global Citizens, equipped with the tools to help them succeed as they progress through life.

Lochinver is proud of its diverse community, drawing families with rich heritages from across the globe. We pride ourselves on accord, diversity, and shared values. Our rigorous international, interconnected curricular approach in the Nursery and Reception transforms the nature of learning and development of the whole child, promoting play-based learning experiences, nurturing well-being, curiosity, agency, and enquiry. International is both a subject and an overarching principle, thus instrumental in our all-round offer.

Through the combination of inter-connected personal, international, and academic learning experiences, the curriculum creates a broad context to respond to young children’s knowledge, skills and understanding, with engaging age-appropriate thematic units of learning facilitating pathways in learning. Such multisensory commitment is making experiences memorable, and with our global focus, is cementing cultural respect and international mindedness.

Our youngsters have positive attitudes towards learning. They demonstrate humility and hard work. In partnership with the families we serve, we get the very best from the boys.
