Jarrett Lawrie Conveyancing

When looking for a reliable conveyancing service, it’s hard to go past Jarrett Lawrie Conveyancing. Business partners Dianne Jarrett and Sue Lawrie have sixty years combined conveyancing experience in Darwin. They met in the 1980s when they were both starting out as conveyancing clerks in law firms. In March 2002 they joined forces and started Jarrett Lawrie Conveyancing – and they haven’t looked back since. “We had known each other for years and worked together very well,” Dianne says. “We decided forming a partnership would be better than running individual practices.” Sharing a practice has given the pair a great work-life balance, and they work together across all client files. “We make a point to know about each and every client,” Dianne says. “This means that a client can always reach one of us, and we will know all the ins and outs of their file. “It’s like getting two conveyancers for the price of one.” Outside of work, the pair enjoy attending social functions, and they are both involved with the Women in Thoroughbred Racing Group. “We definitely have a great friendship as well as a great

working relationship,” says Dianne. Sue and Dianne are also members of the Australian Institute of Conveyancers, and are both Commissioner for Oaths. Dianne says their business focuses a lot on residential conveyancing, as well as some commercial work. And she is extremely proud that the majority of their clients are repeat customers or word-ofmouth referrals. “We mostly do what we like to call ‘cottage conveyancing’ – that is essentially family and residential homes,” Dianne says. “A lot of our clients recommend us to their family and friends, and we are really proud of the fact that we get a lot of repeat business and referrals this way. “Some of our clients are those we worked with when we first started out in the 80s, and we are now seeing the children and grandchildren of those clients come to us. “It tells us we are doing something right.” And Dianne believes customer service is the most important aspect of their business. “We don’t treat clients like a number, it’s important to us to have that good relationship,” she says.
