inspiring woman stopped and everyone went onto autopilot, making funeral hats for celebrities and dyeing all of the flowers and feathers in the studio black. The famous Philip Treacy ship hat that Isabella had modelled years previously was brought into the studio and edited with ostrich feathers to go on top of her cofn. Other roles I’ve had included working on Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz at the Barbican. I’ve worked as a ‘Sparkle Specialist’ on shows such as Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing on Ice. I was responsible for the embellishments that adorn the dresses on the shows, as well as the costume jewellery and accessories (all made by hand) worn by the contestants. Swarovski Crystal has been one of my key inspirations for as long as I can remember. I am also working with Merton Adult
Education in their brand new premises around the corner from the Wimbledon Library, running jewellery courses and other exciting projects which are in the pipeline.
What is your Mantra in life? My mantra is: ‘Always be true to myself ’. I’m inspired by the words of the poet Robert Frost: ‘Two roads diverged in a wood, and I – I took the one less travelled by, and that has made all the difference.’ I would love to bring my various skill sets into theatrical production and film. My aim is to no longer do bespoke but instead to set myself a new creative challenge working in a team environment within production.
