HONOR CURVES Chances are, you’re no stranger to the #HonorMyCurves movement. We have the story behind the hashtag straight from its inspiring creator. BY ERIN DUNLOP
Do you have any fashion advice for curvy girls?
How do you deal with negativity on Instagram? HONOR: I have a no engagement philosophy and I stand by it. Women and men alike get to come to this space when they need a laugh or some inspiration, and that makes my heart happy. Tell us about your body confidence journey. HONOR: Some days I feel like a total babe and others I fall back into old patterns of false belief, but I don’t give up. Tomorrow is a

That’s the spot some girls are stuck at. My advice would be to try on something you think you may like, and see your body as the sexy, supple, gorgeous, beautiful vessel that it is. You’ll surprise yourself! Who is your body positivity role model? HONOR: Nadia Aboulhosn. I’ve thanked her personally for how she changed the way I saw myself when I first found the online fashion blogger community. I was desperate to see myself as beautiful—the way she worked her body really inspired me from afar. Describe your style. Do you have any signature looks?
HONOR: I have two fashion icons that I will forever pine after: Sandy from Grease and Kelly Bundy. I’m all about an all-black ensemble: high-waist, skin-tight pants, an off-theshoulder top, a leather jacket, and colourful stilettos. What’s it like to have a community within #HonorMyCurves? HONOR: I no longer feel ashamed of my body and I have thousands of supportive, kind, loving friends who encourage me to remember that when I feel like forgetting. It’s just rad. What’s next for you? HONOR: I have a blog in the works and have been thinking about penning a book. Writing is my passion. I’m just excited to keep learning to love myself and to share that journey with everyone in this amazing community. JOIN THE MOVEMENT!

HONOR: I gained so much inspiration from the women I was following—I couldn’t get enough of their fearless fashion posts and the words that went along with them. I realized I had a growing following and that the women who were inspiring me could inspire others, too. I chose to turn my page into a platform to share other peoples’ stories along with my own.
