Mean Millie

Kimberley Boudville

Deep in the forest there lived a little girl named Mean Millie. She was a grumpy, stubborn little girl who always wanted to be left alone.

She liked being alone because that way, she didn’t have to be nice to anybody.

Mean Millie was home alone when she heard a knock on her door.

“Who’s here to bother me?” she mumbled to herself. It was rather unusual for her to have company stop by as she didn’t have any friends.

Curious, she slowly opened her front door.

To her surprise, there was no one there. Instead, she found a note on her front steps. It read:

“A wish? What would I do with a wish? Maybe I can wish to be left alone!” Mean Millie thought to herself as she headed into the forest to find the apple.

She hadn’t gotten very far when Mean Millie was stopped by a large, green, monstrous creature. It blocked her from continuing down the forest path.

It was an enormous frog! He introduced himself with a big, jolly smile across his face and a tiny party hat atop his head.

“Oh stop it, you! I’m on my way to collect my wish from a magical apple,” Mean Millie exclaimed.

“I know the way! There’s a fork down the path. The left is right and right is wrong. Hahaha!” laughed the ridiculously large frog as he played with Mean Millie’s hair.

Feeling frustrated, Mean Millie yelled, “I don’t need your help. I’ll find my own way, you outrageously gargantuan amphibian! I hope I never meet you again!”

She definitely didn’t want to have to share her magic apple with anyone else.
