Heavenly Days is the broadest ecclesiastical meeting point in Denmark, and therefore a rare opportunity to gather from all corners of Danish church life.

This is the place for ordinary and unordinary believers to gather with ordinary and unordinary doubters. Heavenly Days is an opportunity to come together and motivate each other and talk about faith.

By participating one will get insight in what is stirring in the ecclesiastical landscape in Denmark. Here one can learn and experience new things and share own experiences with others.
Heavenly Days is enlightening
Honoured guests and relevant problems, which occupies the church and Christians globally, are always part of the Heavenly Days. There is a focus on the international, as the Christian church does not stop at the boarders of Denmark.
Heavenly Days is involvement in society
Relevant ethical and political debates are also a part of the Heavenly Days. Politicians and societal debaters are invited to Heavenly Days to challenge and to be challenged.
Heavenly Days is celebration
Heavenly Days focusses on the life of the church in an atmosphere of celebration. There is good music, chit chat over coffee, playing children and community.
Diversity
Heavenly Days takes place during the Ascension holiday every 3 years in different locations around Denmark. The event first took place in 1968. Heavenly Days is the largest ecumenical event in Denmark. During the latest Heavenly Days, there was over 400 activities over a the 4-day program, including community activities, concerts, different types of services, workshops, lectures, pilgrimages, communal dining etc. Around 30,000 people participated.

Heavenly Days is a place for celebration and fellowship among one another in both church and culture. During the days we learn from one another and discover how blessed we are to be part of God´s diverse church. We come together in an assortment of different ages, denominations, ethnicities, geographies. We meet up with friends and hopefully build new relationships. We come together to challenge, encourage, and motivate one another. We come together to embrace how amazing it is to be part of an atmosphere that is pulsing with life and a desire to make a difference in the world.
Danish Church Days aim to • create space and community for people who ask for Christian faith • gather Christians and strengthen them in their faith
The Vision of Heavenly Days
• encourage the church to take responsibility • enhance testimony and engagement in society • contribute to fellowship with Christians from around the world To this end, Heavenly Days and other open forums are held where people with different roles, church traditions and confessions, theology, and forms of expression, across generations, cultures and ethnicity, come together and exchange thoughts and opinions. Here they worship together, seek deeper understanding of the faith, raise awareness of their responsibility in and for society near and far, and commit to church unity and ecumenical broadness locally and globally. Here renewal of the church is encouraged, and initiatives of innovation promoted.

Be a part of the Heavenly Days Heavenly Days is an event hosted by Danish Church Days, under the Council of Danish Churches. The planning and execution of each Heavenly Days event happens locally. A committee of representatives of Danish churches and church organisations work together to prepare the event. Heavenly Days is endorsed by the National Committee of Danish Church Days, and the national secretary. Over 60 churches and church organisations such as dioceses in Danish Folkekirke, free churches and independent organisations partake as Friends of Danish Church Days. They come together and shape the direction of the Danish Church Days, plan activities and contribute to the economy.
