177a Melton Road Residential Scheme

This small bespoke house project was in it’s initial design stages when I joined the project prior to further client consultation. I was tasked with taking a series of briefing sketches completed by a colleague and producing a series of photo-realistic renders. These were completed using a combination of SketchUp and Lumion.

Project Information

SKETCH SHOWING POTENTIAL CHANGES

01 New full-width/full-height glazed structure forming main entrance. Follows existing pitch at roof level and encloses landing gallery above. Space is opened up, creating a more impressive sense of scale and improving natural light.

02 Proposed view/route through the building into garden courtyard beyond, further extending the sense of space and providing a green backdrop to the entrance space. Flow through the entrance area and towards the kitchen/stair is greatly improved.

03 New kitchen with breakfast bar area. A more efficient use of space providing an open, dual-aspect.

04 Existing extension replaced with a larger, brighter extension that matches the aesthetic of the new entrance and opens up onto the garden.

05 Alcove for artwork, sculpture or indoor tree.

06 Cloaks.

07 New skylight above stair.

08 New eliptical staircase creating additional sense of grandure and providing an impressive focal feature.

09 Utility relocated. Cost of moving boiler acknowledged, would make a big difference but appreciate that costs are a consideration here.

10 Breakfast lounge alcove.

26 Melton Road Residential Scheme

This renovation scheme provided a unique challenge as the client requested the maximisation of spatial efficiency alongside all bedrooms to be Part M accessible. I was involved in multiple client meetings for this project and lead the early stage project progression prior to a full Planning Submission.

Cow Lane, Cambridge Residential Extension

I was tasked with producing a set of Planning Drawings for a residential extension scheme located in Cambridge. The initial planning application was recommended for refusal which resulted in a scheme redesign. The challenge within this re-application was to show the minimised impact of the extension from the street level.

Greylees, Sleaford Masterplan

I was involved in this Master-planning project from it’s conception and primarily worked on initial concept drawings to communicate the desired direction of the scheme to the client and local authority. The scheme aims to retain much of the existing hospital buildings alongside proposing new houses and apartments.

This project was situated in a conservation area of Nottingham and involved numerous constraints and requirements. The design was crafted such that the street facing façades architecturally responded to the Victorian housing adjacent to the site. My role on the project involved producing visualizations using Lumion and assisting with the full set of planning drawings.

Rosemary Street, Mansfield Residential Scheme

Our project at Rosemary Street provided numerous challenges. Having joined the project at initial concept stage, I was able to co-ordinate with the client, local authority and sub-contractors to produce a number of design iterations that addressed the specific contextual requirements.
