Hannahs Comedy festival promises five days of rip-roaring, sidesplitting hilarity. The biggest comedy festival in the South West features the very best of stand-up comedians from the pro circuit previewing their full Edinburgh Festival shows, as well as comedy workshops for budding adult and child comedians and a Kids Comedy Picnic and huge custard pie fight! Buy tickets for the individual events, or opt for the Super Ticket giving you entry to all five evening events, including our closing event starring Mark Watson for just £50. Hannahs Famous Comedy Night

Our hugely popular flagship comedy night returns, with four amazing comedians from the pro comedy circuit.

John Robertson John Robertson is an Australian comedian, writer, games designer and presenter of Videogame Nation on Sky TV presenter from Australia. His shows regularly sell out at the Edinburgh festival and the Udderbelly in London. “A ridiculously entertaining hour” The Scotsman Dave Johns Dave has been a stand up comic since 1989 and is a regular headlining act playing all the major comedy clubs in the UK and comedy festivals worldwide. He is a regular guest improviser with the ‘Comedy Store Players’ and the co-writer of stage production ‘The Shawshank Redemption’. “He is probably one of the funniest stand up comics you’ve never heard of ... He is the real deal” - Sean Lock

Ben Van der Velde Ben was named Comedy Cafe New Act of the Year and in 2012 hosted one of the Big Value Comedy Showcase shows at the Edinburgh Festival. He also hosts the comedy tents at both Bestival and Festival No.6. “Highly promising…an accomplished comic” - Time Out Tim Renkow Winner of the Amused Moose Laugh Off Award 2014 and Leicester Square’s New Comedian of the Year, Tim was also nominated for Best Newcomer at the Chortle Awards. He also happens to have cerebral palsy and explores the funny side of living with a disability with a darkly cheerful sense of humour.

Ed Gamble Chortle Award winning Ed Gamble is a stand-up comedian, writer and actor. He recently starred in BBC America’s first original comedy commission Almost Royal. He was awarded Best Compere at the Chortle Awards 2014. As seen on Virtually Famous, Sweat the Small Stuff and Dave’s One Night Stand. “An ability to open his mouth and spontaneously say something hysterically funny” - The Guardian Nathon Caton Nathan Caton has been active on the UK comedy circuit since the tender age of 19. He excels in combining both personal, confessional material with up-to-date social and political anecdotes. As seen on... Live At The Apollo, Mock The Week and Russell Howard’s Good News “He specialises in laidback, on-the-nose material” – Guardian Steve Hall As a solo live performer Steve Hall has provided the support for Russell Howard on his sell-out national tours and has recently written for Russell Howard’s Good News series 6, 7 and 8 and BBC Radio 4’s The Now Show. “Deadpan brilliance” - Time Out Doors open 7pm, entertainment from 8pm. £15. The Comedy Climax with Mark Watson

Mark Watson is joined by two of the hottest stars from the pro comedy circuit for an amazing night of stand-up.

Not only did Mark Watson sell out every single tickets for his hit show in Pleasance Courtyard at the Edinburgh Festival, he then went on an enormous 100-date UK/Australia tour including a successful run at the Melbourne Comedy Festival. We are incredibly excited to welcome Mark to Hannahs Comedy Festival ahead of his triumphant return to Edinburgh.

Adult Comedy Workshop with Nick Page Turn your story into comedy / 3pm – 6pm Nick Page is acknowledged as one on his often disastrous life, including of the finest storytellers on the UK being sacked from TV for an incident comedy circuit, with his last Edinburgh involving a Russian call girl and an Festival show boasting sell-out antique rocking horse. He will share performances, critical acclaim and a his vast knowledge to help aspiring host of 4 star reviews. comedians to turn their stories into comedy gold. The former host of Escape to the Country bases much of his comedy £20. Only 20 places available.


Comedy For Kids Sunday 12 July

Kids Comedy Picnic & the Huge Messy Custard Pie Fight / 1pm – 2pm OH Productions & Worboys Productions Presents

Signor Baffo’s Restaurant

Supported by Arts Council England There’s chaos in the kitchen when Signor Baffo is left in charge. Expect plates-full of fun with generous helpings of mischief and adventure. With a long list of jobs to complete for his boss, he enlists some young helpers from the audience (swiftly dressed in mini chefs uniform and complete with stick on moustache!) which results in lots of messy fun. What’s the best way to mix meatballs with spaghetti? How do you make a chicken lay an egg, and how does a sausage roll? All is revealed in the charming culinary chaos of Signor Baffo’s kitchen. This picnic style event will take place on the archery field (no arrows will be fired during the show), followed by a giant custard pie fight. Please bring chairs/picnic blankets to sit on. The Archery Field. 1pm – 2pm. Ages 5+. £5 per child, adults go free (one free adult per paying child). Food, drink and ice-cream available. In the unlikely event of bad weather, the event will be moved indoors. Kids Comedy Workshop / 10am – 12pm Comedy Academy for Kids Out professional comic and stage professionals teach kids how to write and perform comedy, finding the funny in their own experiences and turning it into confidently delivered stand-up and sketches. Expect a mix of solo work, sketches and improv games, similar to what you would see on Mock the Week and Whose Line Is It Anyway. At the end of every workshop, we tend to include a mini performance, so the kids can show their parents/teachers/friends what they have been working on. This is always a huge success, as kids consistently create something funny to perform, even after only an hour long class. Parents are always enthusing that they never knew their kids could be so funny! £20 (including a free ticket to the afternoon Comedy Picnic). Only 20 places available.
