With the strongest economy in the nationtotaling $2.4 trillion – Texas ranks among the worst states in the nation across 25 different indicators of women’s overall wellbeing. In most categories, we rank 47th out of 50, with the exception of health insurance where we rank last with the highest percentage of uninsured women (17%) in the US.

Juxtapose that with the fact that women comprise 46% of the Texas workforce, outpacing men in both population growth and college enrollment, and earning 1.4 times more college degrees. Yet women continue to earn 83% of what their male counterparts earn and women occupy only 28% of the top executive positions in the state. The math just doesn’t add up!
It has become abundantly clear that the Texas economy is increasingly dependent on women, yet the barriers to women’s economic security, stability and success persist, including insufficient access to healthcare (including reproductive care); unaffordable, inaccessible childcare; unstable housing; and limited educational and leadership opportunities. TXWF details all of this in “The Economic Issues for Women in Texas Report,” published biennially with support from our generous supporters.
By leveraging research to drive high impact grantmaking and targeted advocacy, Texas Women’s Foundation has been working tirelessly – for 40 years now – to create an equitable society in which women and girls can fully participate. We believe passionately that an investment in a woman is an investment in her family and her community and that by building “Strong Women,” we’ll build a “Better Texas!”

With support from our donors, we have invested more than $85 million in Texas women and girls since 1985

For forty years, Texas Women’s Foundation’s (TXWF) Annual Luncheon has been a convening of powerful and engaged supporters - community and corporate leaders passionate about building #StrongWomenBetterTexas. Attendees are decision-makers, champions, and changemakers who understand that when you invest in a woman, you invest in her family and her community, because as she rises, she lifts those around her Most importantly, they believe in the power of collective philanthropy to drive meaningful and lasting change, which is exactly what they’ve enabled TXWF to do for more than four decades.
Partnership opportunities at our annual luncheon offer direct access to this dynamic network of purpose-driven leaders who align values with action and drive brand awareness and affinity for companies, firms and brands who share their values.
