Club History Dalkeith Thistle was founded in 1892 and currently plays in the Premier Division of the Scottish Junior Football Association, East Region.

The new pavilion was erected in 2007, and floodlights were installed at the ground in 2013.

Recreation Park Rosyth

Rosyth Football Club are a Scottish Junior football club based in Rosyth, Fife. Their home ground is Recreation Park. Until 2006, they were known as Rosyth Recreation.

A Junior football team was first established in Rosyth in 1916 with an affiliated senior team being established in 1919 that were called Rosyth Dockyard Recreation. The Junior side folded in 1926 only to be reformed after World War II in 1946. It was in 1946 that Rosyth attracted a record crowd of 4000 in a cup tie against Bo’ness United. Three seasons later Rosyth, or "The Rec" as they were known enjoyed their most successful period when they won the treble – the Fife League, Fife Cup and Cowdenbeath Cup. This club folded in 1957.

In 1992 after several decades without a Junior football team, semi professional football came back to the Garden City when local homeless team, Dunfermline Jubilee Athletic, founded in 1967, relocated to New Recreation Park and renamed themselves Rosyth Recreation.

The SJFA restructured prior to the 2006–07 season and Rosyth found themselves in the 12-team East Region Premier League. They finished third in their first season in the division.

At the end of the 2007–08 season, Rosyth were relegated to the Central Division.

With the League restructure at the start of the 2013-14 season, Rosyth were moved to the South Division were they have competed since.

Former Scotland international, Stevie Crawford, began his career at the club before leaving for Raith Rovers in late 1992.

MATCH REPORT Hurlford Utd 5 - 3 Dalkeith Thistle

Jags lose incredible cup tie at Hurlford A depleted Jags squad headed through to Ayrshire for a fourth round tie against Hurlford Utd - winners of the competition in 2014/15 and almost caused the shock of the round.

The jags were missing a number of influential player but were dogged in their attitude to the task ahead. The opening exchanges were scrappy but the Jags nearly opened the scoring on 12 minutes when Mikey Hunters shot squirmed out of the home keepers hands but the woodwork came to the rescue. Hurlford struck David Hays's crossbar on 20 minutes with and effort that clipped the top of the bar but with half time approaching the game was even Steven. Then on 40 minutes The Jags took the lead.

The Jags were awarded a free kick just inside their own half and Thomas Waters sent in a left foot inswinger. Mikey Hunter rose highest in the box finding the net with a looping header over the stranded keeper.

This wasn't on the script for the home side and they were further rocked right on the stroke of half time when Matty Hunter worked some trickery wide on the left before send a perfect cross to Sean Lally who planted a header past the keeper. The Jags fans were ecstatic whilst the home fans vented their anger at their side when the half time whistle was blown immediately.

Into the second half and the Jags players were warned that Hurlford would come out with all guns blazing - and they did. Hurlford almost grabbed a goal back straight from the kick off but Gavin was on hand to clear the danger and then moments later The Jags had the audacity to go three up. Thomas Waters won a free kick wide on the left and with everyone in the ground expecting him to whip the ball into the box he slid a pass to Paul Tansey just inside the box to the left. The winger took one touch and from a tight angle slammed a screamer across the face of the goal finding the net at the far post. What a goal!!!! surely this would see the Jags take the tie......

Alas it was not to be. Hurlford stepped up a couple of gears and then pulled a goal back on 56 minutes with an effort that trundled over the line and with that our hopes crumbled as wave after wave of attack rained down on our goal.

It was 2-3 on 65 minutes as Hay could only get finger tips to a fierce shot as it found the top corner and it was 3-3 a minute later.

Capitulation was complete on 73 minutes as the home side went 4-3 up. The Jags fought back and Matty Hunter was only inches away from connecting to a Lally cross. On 82 minutes Lally saw his net bound left foot volley deflected by the foot of a defender but the keeper did well to tip the looping effort over the bar. But footballs is cruel game and a minute later Hurlford put the game to bed when they scored after The Jags were unable to clear their lines from a corner.

So the Jags went out the cup but not after giving one of the cup favourites an almighty fright. The players should be proud of their efforts and they earned praise for the way they conducted themselves despite what happened in the second half.

Dalkeith Community Football Club is delighted to announce that it has achieved the next level of accreditation from the SFA. This award is recognition from the Scottish FA South East Regional Committee of the good practice that has been demonstrated within the Club through the promotion of safe play and player and volunteer development.

In the past 12 months the club has grown to over 200 playing members including the new 'Academy' players age 4-7 through to over 50s Walking Football.

The adult section has also expanded to include an Under 19s side and Sunday Amateur team to complement the 1st team (Juniors).

Our new Girls section is off to a great start, with over 25 new players of primary school age attending weekly training sessions at Dalkeith Schools Campus.

The established youth teams at U/16s and U/15s continue to thrive, as do our youngsters currently playing 5s and 7s a side including 2004s, 05s, 06s and 07s.

4 club reps are invited to attend the SFA Quality Mark Awards 2015 on Saturday 23rd January 2016 at Easter Road Stadium, and the club plans to hold a public meeting in the New Year to describe its plans for future growth.

Boca & Dalkeith have been the two main forces in the Sunday Amateurs the past few seasons, so this is sure to be a great game.
