Millma
Millma is a luxury knitwear brand founded in La Paz, Bolivia.
Founded in 1985 in La Paz, Bolivia, Millma’s identity is deeply connected to the Andes, with a singular dedication to excellence in design, color, attention to detail, and finishing.
Through the use of the finest natural fibers indigenous to the Andean region and the craftsmanship of local artisan tradition, Millma have been able to create sophisticated handcrafted garments, unique in a world of mass production.

History and Roots
Millmas’ singular connection to fashion history and Bolivian textiles is central to the brand’s identity and design ethos.
Millma has become a source of pride for Bolivia, both culturally and industrially.
Mr. and Ms. Adelson (Millm’as owners) have traveled the world showcasing antique Bolivian textiles in galleries and museums, spreading awareness of Bolivian cultural tradition.
Due to the countries political problems, Millma has decided to close its doors after over 35 years of business.

Fashion history is important because it is a visual marker of societal changes.

Guests at the show will have the opportunity to use a weaving loom and choose the Alpaca yarn of their choice, creating one large “community textile” which will later become part of the exhibit.
