Newly published author Jennifer Marshall is the Crossroads Weekly Person of the Week. Marshall, a first grade teacher at Corinth Elementary School, shares her own story of finding faith through the darkest days of her life in her new book “Out Came the Son”. The book deals with the death of her son, Pruitt, nine years ago. She and her husband, Jason Marshall, found out 20 weeks into the pregnancy he had a genetic condition not compatible with life. “Our world fell apart when we found out,” said the first-time author. Pruitt was born three weeks early and spent five days with his parents before passing way. Marshall said her journey through the past few years has enabled her to now share this story. “God has done a lot in me over the last seven years to be able to write the book,” said Marshall. “I couldn’t have written it any

other time until two years ago.” She hopes God will be glorified and others will be encouraged through the book. “My prayer is the book is a message of hope and it points people to the Lord,” said Jennifer. “I hope they see the Son is still there during the rainy days.” “‘Out Came The Son’” is an honest look at the struggle for faith during suffering,” said John Nix, president of Vertical Purpose Ministries. “There are so many people who mistakenly think one must go through life without questions or doubts … Jennifer shows us through her own personal journey that doubts and faith are not mutually exclusive.” Jason, youth director of First Baptist Church in Corinth, and Jennifer Marshall have two children today. Their son Peyton is 13 while daughter Presley is 11. “Out Came the Son” is available on Amazon for $10. A signing is planned for July 31 at Ginger’s.
