GLEN — Alcorn Central Elementary School’s gym is expected to be jam-packed Saturday with more items than Santa Claus can make in a day. The “Jingle Bear Bazaar” is set for 9 a.m. through 2 p.m. as the school hopes to collect enough proceeds to upgrade computers and make repairs at the school. “Our gym will be packed out with over a 1,000 items,” said ACES PTO President Leeann Howie. “I am excited so many different items will be available.” Most of the 37 vendors committed to be at the event are from out of town, according to Howie.

Dal Nelms. The auditor’s office executed search warrants and charged County Purchase Clerk Paul Rhodes with hindering prosecution in the first degree. The warrant for his arrest alleged that Nelms and several vendors were involved in a conspiracy to embezzle and/ or convert money, equipment and property from Alcorn County. The Alcorn County Grand Jury has been in session this week.

Items such as kids and women’s clothing, handmade items, pottery, jewelry, home decor and even custom made duck calls can be purchased on Saturday. “We are hoping the bazaar becomes an annual event,” said Howie. Santa is also slated to be on hand for photos. Cost of the 5x7 print with St. Nick will be $10 with money collected going to the Christmas for Kids Program of BAGGERS (Bikers Awareness Group Giving Every Road Safety) and Rider Down.
