Planning board hears bids BY JEBB JOHNSTON jjohnston@dailycorinthian.com

Although short of a quorum to conduct business, the Corinth Planning Commission and Board of Adjustment heard discussion of several upcoming requests in its meeting

this week. Joel Pico of Guys, Tenn., is seeking approval to operate a used car lot on South Parkway Street at property that was a former tamale shop near the railroad tracks and next to Jake’s barber shop. Pico plans

to have three to four used cars for sale on the lot at a time. The property is zoned I-1 industrial. While the code does not specify a car lot as an acceptable use in an I-1 zone, it does name some comparable uses such as tire rebuilding

and a truck terminal, said City Attorney Wendell Trapp. Pico does not plan to conduct any type of repairs at the business. On behalf of Greg Johnson Please see BOARD | 2A

There was no shortage of help at Corinth Middle School on Thursday morning as volunteers gathered to count their blessings and pass the spirit of Thanksgiving along to those in need. For the past 26 Atkins years, the congregation of First Presbyterian Church, members of the community and others have devoted their time and efforts to feed people who would otherwise go hungry during the holiday. With the efficiency of a welloiled machine and a lofty goal of providing 1,000 meals, approximately 100 good samaritans worked together to achieve their goal. “I love it. It has become a tradition for us,” said volunteer Greg Kiddy who arrived at 7:30 a.m. to assist with set up
