All the gobbling has been good for the Lighthouse Foundation. The talk doesn’t have anything to do with turkeys. It’s about high school basketball and the two-day feast of games following Thanksgiving. Some of the top teams in the south are slated to invade Corinth High School on Friday for the start of the Physician’s Urgent Care Lighthouse Thanksgiving Classic. Thirteen games over two days are scheduled for CHS with the proceeds going to the Lighthouse Foundation.
KOSSUTH — Kossuth United Methodist Church got a taste of turkey early. Pilgrims and Indians also joined in the fun as the after school ministry of the church presented a community-wide Thanksgiving program on Sunday. FUEL (Forever, Unending, Eternal, Love) after school

“There has been a lot of noise from all over the south concerning the classic,” said Lighthouse Foundation Executive Director Gary Caveness. The spirit of giving is alive and well in the Crossroads area as donations are beginning to arrive for the 18th Annual Corinth Rotary Club / Daily Corinthian 2013 Christmas Basket Fund. The civic club and newspaper have set a $25,000 community fundraising goal this year so 1,000 food baskets can be given away to local families at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7 at the Crossroads Arena. If the number of applications are any indication, the need this year will be an all-time high for folks who need help with a good holiday meal.
