Albarracin, J.C. Hill, Michael McFall and Mike Hopkins accepted their duties for four years of service from the mayor. Adrian L. “Chip” Wood was unable to attend. Toy store drive starts BY BRANT SAPPINGTON bsappington@dailycorinthian.com

Christmas is just around the corner and as children dream of gifts under the tree many families are struggling to find a way to make those wishes come true. The Lighthouse Foundation is again leading a community effort to make sure every child has a special Christmas with its annual Christmas Toy Store effort. Registration begins next Monday for families seeking help from the program. Since 1995 the Toy Store has given families a way to provide for their children at Christmas and the need continues to grow.

Last year more than 1,500 children were provided for through the effort thanks to the support from the community and foundation executive director Gary Caveness said they believe there’s a huge need for help again this year. “We’ve already had people calling asking when it starts. The need is there. People are hurting,” he said. “If you’re hurting, if you’re in need, you need to come in and register.” Registration sessions will be Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon beginPlease see TOYS | 3A
