The Corinth Music Club is setting the stage for some of the city’s notable talents. The club is launching a “Visiting Artist Series” with a performance by soprano Beth Middleton, who will be accompanied by organist Derrick Ian Meador. It is set for 7 p.m. Oct. 17 at First United Methodist Church. “The idea for this series was born two years ago at a fall meeting,” said Cathy Alexander, who is spearheading the series. “Our program was about local people who have had great success on a

regional, national and international level. We were amazed at the number, living and deceased. Right then and there, we decided to try to have all those still performing professionally to come to Corinth.” The club envisions a three-year series with a couple of performances each year. Middleton, a Corinth native, has been a member, soloist and music assistant with the Independent Presbyterian Church Adult Choir for the past 13 years. With the choir, she has sung works such as Brahm’s German Mass and SaintPlease see SERIES | 2
