The Corinth Kiwanis Club is encouraging other groups and businesses to donate and pledge their support to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital before the close of the year. Unaware their $1,000 donation would be matched, Kiwanians were delighted to learn that a new public giving campaign had pledged to match donations dollar-for-dollar. “I had the opportunity to visit and speak to members of the Corinth Kiwanis Club on August 12,” said Connie Haygood, special events manager/CMN coordinator for Le Bonheur’s regional office. “CN Railroad matched their $1,000 donation and turned it into $2,000 contribution.” Launched in 2006 by CN, North America’s Railroad, the CN Miracle Match program allows individuals or corporate partners to make life-saving donations to the hospital. According to Kiwanis of Corinth President Ken Weeden, Haygood did an outstanding job in educating members about the services Le Bonheur offers in the Crossroads area and the op-
portunities that locals have to support the hospital. A member of the Children’s Miracle Network, Le Bonheur is the first U.S. hospital to participate in the charitable matching program. Gifts raised for the hospital will be doubled from now until Dec. 14. One-time gifts up to $5,000 will be matched as well as all monthly gifts to the hospital up to $300,000. The funds given will allow the Le Bonheur to continue their nationally ranked programs and the top level of care they provide to their patients. “I encourage everyone to contact Ms. Haygood regarding how you or your club can get involved in this great cause,” said Weeden. “Now is a particularly good time to donate since a private donor is sponsoring a matching donation program through the end of this year.” (For more information contact Special Events Manager/ CMN Coordinator of Le Bonheur’s Regional office Connie Haygood at 662-840-2389.)
