Three generations share artistic perspective BY JEBB JOHNSTON jjohnston@dailycorinthian.com

Mississippi scenes from the perspectives of three generations of women artists are currently featured at the Corinth Artist Guild Gallery. The exhibit includes Dot Courson of Pontotoc; her daughter, Susan Patton; and her granddaughter, Faith Patton. The gallery will host an opening reception for the exhibit on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m., and it will continue through Sept. 30. “This exhibit marks a milestone for me in my life,” said Courson, who was born in Corinth and draws inspiration from memories of her storybook-like childhood summers in the delta. “It is so special to be in a show with my daughter and granddaughter. Officers seized crystal methamphetamine with a street value of approximately $30,000 as two people suspected of bringing drugs to Corinth from Atlanta were arrested this week. It happened at a Corinth hotel after the detectives division of the Corinth Police D e p a r t m e n t Lindsey received information that a subject in possession of a large quantity of “ice” was there, according to Capt. Ralph Dance. After conducting surveillance and Jordan getting consent to search, officers arrested Jeffrey Wade Lindsey, 45, of Holly Drive, Baldwyn, and charged him with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. Officers found 16 grams of crystal meth in the room with a street value of about $1,600 as well as cash totaling $4,600, Dance said. Police had Lindsey contact his source to arrange for a delivery of drugs. When she arrived at the hotel Thursday morning, officers with CPD, Alcorn County Sheriff’s Department, Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, U.S. Marshals, Drug Enforcement Administration and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were waiting. In the parking lot of the hotel, they arrested Heather Marie Jordan, 26, of Georgia. Officers
