Four individuals were transported to Magnolia Regional Health Center following a two-vehicle accident on Saturday. A black Chevy Camry and white Chevy Impala collided at the intersection of north Madison Street and Polk Street just after 2 p.m. Two people from each vehicle were taken via ambulance to the hospital.

Alcorn School District custodial staff members may get a raise soon. Board member Randy Wilbanks said the county school board should look at the way the custodial employee pay scale is administrated. “We decided not long ago that we would carry over years of experience for custodial staff from previous jobs,” said Wilbanks. “The problem now is we have a female custodial employee who has been with us forever and is topped out on pay. We’ve hired in a new worker whose bought years with him from a previous job and he’s making as much as

she is.” “That’s just not fair,” he added. Roderick Herman and Willie Key are making a difference. The two men owe their turn from a life of running the streets to the Lighthouse Foundation.

Their stories are just a few about changed lives orchestrated by the Lighthouse over the past 20 years. The foundation celebrated 20 years of helping people turn to God on Saturday with an open house. “These guys hit rock bot-

With a smiling face and friendly disposition, Nita Parson greets each guest with warmth and enthusiasm as they step through the doors of the Verandah–-Curlee House.
