Twirling and leaping their way into a new season, Turning Pointe Dance Academy is currently accepting new students. The dance studio is holding Fall registration for ballet, jazz pointe, lyrical, acro and hip-hop as well as private and competitive lessons. Daytime classes for home school groups and adults are also available. “We register for classes year-round, but those wishing to participate in ‘The Nutcracker’ which we produce for the Corinth Ballet will need to register no later than Sept. 1,” said Owner Crystal Sweeny Scarbrough. “We will begin our Fall classes on Monday, Aug. 8 and will be open for
For more than 26 years Martha Parson has worked as office manager for Little Properties, Inc. During some of that time she also turned a hobby into a business. Parson became the go-to person for pageant and prom preparations. “I owned a formal wear shop where I dressed girls and did their hair and make-up,” she said. “I loved it, but I just got too busy.” Although the shop is closed, she still does the occasional make-up appointment. She said, “It keeps me involved in the world of pageants.” Parson credits learning her strong work ethic from her late parents, Jack and Geraldean Clark. Married for 34 years to Neil, the couple have two grown children, Chris and Allison. “We’re also expecting our first grandchild – we’re very excited about that,” she added.
