Corinth city schools placed among the top-10 in the state and Alcorn County schools reported an increase on four-year graduation and dropout rates recently released by the Mississippi Department of Education. Operations are “bare-bones” at the Northeast Regional Library as they brace for state funding cuts coming next month. Director William McMullin said local libraries funding will

City opens sidewalk, lighting project bids BY JEBB JOHNSTON jjohnston@dailycorinthian.com

The Meigg Street sidewalk and lighting project has reached the bid phase. Corinth is currently advertising the project, which in 2014 was approved to receive federal dollars through the Transportation Alternative Program. The bid deadline for contractors is 10 a.m. July 26.

The project is designed to create an improved pedestrian corridor leading to Crossroads Regional Park and in the area of Corinth National Cemetery.
